I'm A Celeb: Day one

I’m A Celeb might not have reached our TV screens quite yet (we have to wait until 9pm before ITV show the first instalment) but there’s already a lot going on. The celebs have been spilt into two rival gangs Croc Creek and Snake Rock. The Crocs (Rodney, Anna, Marc, Cerys and John) had to bungee jump out of a helicopter to reach camp, and the whole experience left Anna terrified and claiming she’d rather starve for two weeks then have to bungee jump ever again. Meanwhile, the Snakes had to kayak into camp. There’s already tension between alpha females Janice Dickinson and Lynne Franks, and Janice has been flirting with J suggesting they go skinny-dipping. We know it hasn’t even started yet, but any of you got any favourites?

If the first few minutes is anything to go by, this could be an intriguing show. Ant and Dec are fantastic at this.

Janice Dickinson is a bit of a character.

I've never heard of her - I thought it was Angie Dickenson, and was saying to daughter 'wow, she's changed a hell of a lot, but she looks good for her age' (Angie D was born in 1931..Janice D in 1955 ::lol:: )

I'll watch it when I can, and will possibly be waffling on about it elsewhere.

But yes, Ant and Dec have already earned their wages, if you ask me.

Like most 'reality/celebrity/talent' shows these days, best to think of it as a comedy.

If they avoided doing nasty things to harmless little creatures, it'd be perfect entertainment for me.

DAVID'S VIEW OF THE GEST LIST

LAST year’s Jungle survivor David Gest fears the 2007 version could be “a train wreck” as he runs the rule over this year’s celebs:

GEMMA ATKINSON: I know Gemma! She was on my favourite soap Hollyoaks. She’s hot and the best thing about this year’s Celebs. It would be great if she was interested in a guy that lost 120lb and no longer has man-boobs.

JOHN BURTON RACE: I’ve never heard of this guy. I wouldn’t know him if he walked down the street.

LYNNE FRANKS: I didn’t know we were now stretching the celebrities to publicists! I mean, if you’re doing this, why not get Max Clifford – his face has been on the cover of every mag!

ANNA RYDER RICHARDSON - TV interior designer (Changing Rooms): She could be a surprise if she starts decorating the bunkbeds and makes the loos a little more exciting.

JANICE DICKINSON: This model claims 1,000 romps and is the perfect train wreck for any reality show. Volatile as a kangaroo on heat!

RODNEY MARSH: Cockney football pundit. As a football lover and being the mascot for Arsenal this year, I’m glad that we’ve got one footballer in the camp.

CERYS MATTHEWS: The Catatonia singer. I had a lizard in the jungle last year named Bonnie Tyler that I used to sing to, and I think that’s why they’ve put a real Welsh singer in the jungle this time.

MALCOLM McCLAREN:
The Sex Pistols’ manager. There always needs to be one wild card and Malcolm could become the true jungle star – if he’s as mesmerising as the band he once managed.

JASON ‘J’ BROWN: 5ive singer. He’s going to have to surpass the coolness of Matt Willis if he wants to make a name for himself.

MARC BANNERMAN
: Er . . . who?

I watched a bit of this last night and the only person I recognised was the guy who used to be in Eastenders. The American woman is very irritating so hopefully will stay in for a while as she probably is the only entertaining person there at the moment, though it does always take a while for some people to make an impression.

${ The only one I recognised was LYNNE FRANKS who used to own one of the best PR Agencies in the world. She has always been a bit of an extrovert but was great to work with.

The rest ............................................. WHO ARE THEY ??? :-?

Row marks celebrities' jungle night

13/11/07

US model Janice Dickinson and PR guru Lynne Franks are already at each other's throats on I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!
Sparks began to fly on the celebrities' first night in the jungle.

The arguments erupted as Dickinson, whose male conquests are said to include Mick Jagger and Jack Nicholson, lost her first Bushtucker Trial despite insisting on facing the challenge for her team.

The women argued non-stop while cooking their first dinner, with Dickinson, 52, dubbing Franks, 59, said to be the inspiration for Edina in Absolutely Fabulous, a "freak" and a "shrew". The row erupted on their first night in camp after Franks read out the contents of their evening meal and suggested they save some for the next evening.

Dickinson barked: "I don't mind you suggesting things Lynne, but can I have an opinion over here about what I stick in my gob?" Franks, a mother-of-two, ignored her and ploughed on: "Anyway, as I was saying, so there's fruit and veg, there's masses of food and you are going to sleep now."

Dickinson muttered under her breath: "Freak". Franks told her rival: "Well I don't care about what you do. I'm keeping some of my fruit and veg."

Dickinson told her: "I held your hand the whole way down the ravine, pal." Later, as the pair were cooking, the PR guru had a go at the self-proclaimed "world's first supermodel" for the way she put the vegetables into the pot.

She said: "I don't think I have ever seen cooking like that. I don't think that's the way to do it, but do what you want."

Franks, who said she is taking part in the show as an inspiration for older women, could not resist adding: "They haven't even been washed."

Plastic surgery fan Dickinson explained: "It washes them in the water" but Franks continued: "Well, for someone who's so fastidious..." The model told Franks to "knock off the remarks," adding: "I'm not saying anything derogatory towards you, I'm trying to help."

Gemma gets all dirty with Katie

Apprentice 'ball breaker' and hate figure, Katie Hopkins, has been drafted into the jungle to join the stars of 'I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here'.

ITV bosses announced the 31-year-old's arrival today.

Hopkins is famed for shooting her mouth off and calling colleagues 'dogs' and 'limpets' and will certainly add fireworks to the already explosive beginnings within the Snake Rock camp

She wasted no time in getting muddy as she paired up with Gemma Atkinson as they got to task on the Celebrity Chest, Log Jam challenge.

The stars also took part in a Bushtucker trial called Rumble Rally. Janice Dickinson and Rodney Marsh had to drive a jeep through a watery ditch to gather stars.

Getting To Grips With The Rules Of Attraction

THIS week sees reality show, I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here returning to our screens.

Many are already speculating about the possibility of another jungle romance. This is, after all, the show that brought together one of the nation's most famous couples, Peter Andre and Katie Price.

Not only did Katie and Peter fall for each other on the show but they went on to get married and have a family.

However, couples who get together in the fishbowl environment of reality television rarely last the course when they get back out into the real world. Just look at Big Brother couple Ziggy and Chanelle's very public break-up.
