RICKY GERVAIS - GERVAIS VOWS TO AVOID CELEBRITY REALITY SHOWS

British funnyman RICKY GERVAIS has vowed never to sign on for a reality TV series - despite his love of such programmes. The comedian's favourite reality show is Britain's I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!, which sees stars struggling to survive in the Australian jungle for a fortnight. But The Office star admits he would never step foot in the outback himself - because he would "be the first out." The 46-year-old tells Britain's Star Magazine, "(I couldn't cope with) the fact there are no comforts like a bath or running water. The lack of privacy would do my head in first, then the idiots I was in there with. "Then you've got the dangerous animals that could kill you, and having to eat kangaroo ***** - it wouldn't happen!"

I'm A Celebrity show a hit for 9.8m

Nearly 10 million viewers tuned in to the launch of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! on Monday night.

The audience peaked at 9.8 million and averaged 8.7 million. Both figures were 200,000 down on last year's opener.

The ITV1 reality show hosted by Ant and Dec trounced its nearest rival, Stephen Poliakoff's BBC Two drama Capturing Mary, which drew three million viewers.

The ratings helped ITV1 to its best Monday performance in a year.

ITV2 spin-off I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here Now!, presented by Matt Willis and Emma Griffiths, pulled in 703,000 viewers.

STARS RELY ON US FOR THE GOSS

Jungle stars Marc Bannerman and John Burton Race know there’s only one way to catch up on all the best jungle goss – by reading the Daily Star.

Former EastEnder Marc admitted that he got all his jungle gossip from us.

And John confessed that he was tempted to bare all – just to get his crown jewels in our pages!

The duo know they can’t rely on the jungle drums to find out what is happening Down Under.

So they turn to the Daily Star – Britain’s hottest daily paper – to discover what’s REALLY going on.

Before going into the jungle, Marc, 34, made sure he picked up a copy of Britain’s most successful newspaper every day to find out what lay in store for him and the rest of the gang.

Producers had tried to keep the celebs in the dark about their jungle ordeal, but Marc knew who he could trust.

He admitted: “I read they’re going to put us underwater for a trial and we’ll also have to face crocs.”

Meanwhile, saucy chef John, 50, may strip off – just for our readers.

He got a shock when he took a shower in camp and saw the cameras zooming in on him.

He said: “I was there in my boxers and I heard this noise. The cameras were on me.

"I thought: ‘Shall I pull my boxers off and just be naked under the shower?’

“I didn’t think the cameras would be on me for this. I did think about taking the boxers down and waving my thing.

"I thought: ‘I’ll be in the Daily Star waving it around!’”

As Marc and John know, the Daily Star is the OFFICIAL I’m A Celebrity newspaper.

A croc doesn’t cough or a spider burp without us knowing it!

I JUST LOVE GEMMA’S COCONUTS

Cheeky singer Jason Brown cannot wait to get his hands on Gemma Atkinson’s “coconuts”.

The pop star – nicknamed J – just can’t keep his eyes off the actress and model’s amazing 34E boobs.

And he gave the game away by making a cheeky verbal slip-up after watching Gemma, 22, plaster her sexy body with mosquito repellant and sun cream.

He blurted out: “I’d love some coconuts.”

Then, realising his gaffe, he added sheepishly: “I hear they are a good laxative.”

But Jason, 31, pictured above right, is not the only lad eyeing up Gemma’s assets.

Last year’s winner Matt Willis, 24, has been caught ogling her by his girlfriend Emma Griffiths, 31.

The pair are in Australia hosting the ITV2 spin-off show, Get Me Out Of Here Now.

Emma quipped to him: “Other than Gemma, is there anything else that has caught your eye in the jungle?”

But TV chiefs are happy for Gemma to show off her curves, believing they will help to keep ratings sky-high.

When she was chosen to do the Celebrity Chest challenge yesterday, she was ordered to take a swimsuit along.

Jason laughed: “They’re going to be filming her constantly.”

But bitchy Janice Dickinson is clearly jealous.

She sniped: “The cameras aren’t filming me. I have my following, too. Those cameramen here are just pervs.”

CERYS & MARC SIZZLE

SEXY Cerys Matthews is proving to be just the Cata-TONIC for male fans – especially actor Marc Bannerman.

She is determined to keep fit in the jungle and hunky Marc has offered to help oversee her exercise regime.
He led Cerys, 38, through some gruelling exercises including bench presses and press-ups.

And the Welsh singer – who used to front the band Catatonia – showed him how supple she was by doing a bendy “crab”.
She giggled: “I used to be good at gymnastics. I could do cartwheels and everything.”

The pair got even closer as they sunbathed, when Marc, 34, asked Cerys: “Can you check if there’s a spot on my nose? Can you squeeze it?”

She also hit him on the stomach with a twig and said: “I just spanked you.”

The Crock Creek pair teased each other about their accents, with Marc saying: “Thirty per cent of what you say goes in.”

And later, when their team realised they were being thrashed by Snake Rock, Marc gave disappointed Cerys a comforting hug.

The pair went on to discuss ventriloquism, and Marc joked: “I could put you on my knee and pretend you’re the puppet.”

Cerys replied: “Go on then.”

A bashful Marc later went into the bush diary in a bid to reassure his girlfriend that he hadn’t been flirting with Cerys.
But viewers were also left wondering if she has had a boob job, as her breasts appear to have grown since her chart days.

And Cerys’s curves are proving a treat for Marc and their fellow camp-mate, 50-year-old chef John Burton Race.
She made the lusty lads laugh when she teased: “Have you ever tried yeast buns?”

Later she joked her trousers might be dropping down a lot.

I'm A Celebrity... sheds 2m viewers

I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! shed more than two million viewers on Tuesday night.

The jungle reality show was seen by 6.5 million, down from 8.7 million on Monday, despite the catfight between ex-model Janice Dickinson and PR guru Lynne Franks.

The show, also featuring ex-Apprentice contestant Katie Hopkins, former Catatonia star Cerys Matthews, and ex-EastEnders actor Marc Bannerman, took a 26.6% share of viewers, down from 38% on Monday night.

It was the most watched show in the 9pm slot - beating Spooks on BBC One, which had an average of 5.2 million viewers and a 21.5% share.

But the fall in viewers between the first and second night of I'm a Celebrity....Get Me Out of Here! was steeper than last year, when it fell by 1.3 million to 7.6 million.

On Channel 4, Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares attracted 2.9 million and a 12% share.

US import CSI: Miami had an audience of 2.2 million and a 9% share on Five, while BBC Two's music talent show Classical Star had 1.6 million viewers and a 7% share.

I'm A Celeb latest

It looks like Cerys and Gemma may be heading for a bust-up - after I'm A Celebrity bosses last night put the two rival camps together.

For the past few days the celebs have been competing in two teams.

But jungle warfare now looks to be looming after Anna Ryder Richardson was yesterday given a notice that read: "The two camps are going to become one. Snake Rock's celebrities will be joining you permanently at Croc Creek." The news immediately upset John Burton Race, who said: "I'm going to have to put up with all the people I don't like. I'm completely not happy about merging."

Marc Bannerman added: "The snakes are going to slither in and want to mark their territory. I'm not going to be happy." And Cerys Matthews said: "I won't like it if they start to boss me around." Rodney Marsh showed more than just his annoyance - by mooning in the Bush Telegraph. He said: "That's for you Snake Rock. From our camp to your camp."

The news got a similar reaction when it was announced in Snake Rock.

Lynne gave a hint of trouble ahead when she said: "They are going to have to behave because I'm not taking any s***."

BUNGLE IN THE JUNGLE
Cerys Matthews (Rex Features)

"Cerys, are your t**s real? They're sort of perfectly shaped." - Rodney gets over-personal... but learns that it is all down her "superbra".

KING OF THE JUNGLE

John Burton Race was celebrating after winning his bushtucker trial. After kissing opponent Janice he said: "I've won a feast for my camp."

THE LOVE BUG 1

"They're adorable. They make a great couple. They really do. And he's crazy about her. What guy wouldn't be." - Janice gossips to Katie about J and Gemma getting together.

THE LOVE BUG 2

Marc snuggled up with Cerys to flirt and share a late night ciggie on her bed by the fire. After joking for a while he leant over to kiss the singer goodnight then went back to his own bunk.

I’m A Celeb update – it’s Christopher Biggins OR Right Said Fred!

Earlier this morning, we revealed that a new celebrity is due to arrive in the jungle today, and now our spies have let it slip that it’s going to be Christopher Biggins or Right Said Fred. Whoever doesn’t make it in will stick around in case someone else walks out and needs replacing. As soon as we know what’s happening (and it’s bedtime there at the moment, so it could be a good few hours before anyone goes in), we’ll tell you. heatworld
