Kerry Katona was "devastated" today following the death of the man she regarded as her real father.
The Iceland ad star is heading to America after stepdad Arnold Ferrier, 78, passed away this morning.
Ferrier was married to Kerry’s mum when she was a little girl and despite a row a few years ago, the pair recently made up.
In a statement this morning the 27-year-old former Atomic Kitten singer said: “To me he was my real dad, a lovely man who I love and will really miss.”
Her spokeswoman said: "Kerry was told last week that he had been diagnosed with cancer.
"She received a call yesterday saying he had taken a turn for the worse.
"She was desperately trying to get over there to be at his bedside."
Kerry has had a troubled family life recently. She fell out with mum Susan after she sold her story to a newspaper and claimed her daughter was a “cokehead”.
She is involved in a custody battle with ex-husband Brian McFadden over their two children, Molly, seven and five-year-old Lily-Sue.
And there have been rumours that second husband Mark Croft, who is the father of her other two children – Heidi, one and month-old Maxwell Mark - is threatening to leave the bi-polar disorder sufferer Kerry.
