Kerry Katona betrayed by own mother in new book By Kate Mansey Kerry Katona's mum is to dish the dirt on her daughter's drugs and sex secrets in a sensational new book. In a move that will enrage the TV star, Sue Katona has signed a six-figure deal to cash in on her daughter's fame with extraordinary allegations including one that Kerry, 27, once worked as a hooker. In the tawdry autobiography Sue, 48, has hawked to publishers, she also claims Kerry's 37-year-old husband, Mark Croft, once tried to seduce her. The allegations will devastate the former Atomic Kitten. Last night Kerry, who has already barred her mother from coming anywhere near her children, broke down in tears on hearing of the latest betrayal. Her spokesman Max Clifford said: "I have just spoken to Kerry and she was sobbing. All she could say was, 'How can my own mother do this to me?' "She is absolutely devastated. Even though it is all lies and nonsense, to have your own mother saying such terrible things about you is horrendous. "Unfortunately Sue is a very sad and very sick, lonely woman who seems to be increasingly bitter and twisted." Sue is set to sign a £100,000 book deal with publisher John Blake in the next few days. In it, she will claim Kerry worked as a hooker some years ago and when she met her current husband, cabbie Mark, she was so skint she offered to have sex with him in exchange for drugs. She also brags in the book that she taught Kerry everything she knows about sex and gave her tips on how to be good in bed - before going on to steal her daughter's lovers. In an outrageous confession Sue admits to consistently hitting on Kerry's men. She says she seduced one of her old boyfriends and even tried it on with Kerry's first husband, Westlife singer Brian McFadden. In one incredible chapter Sue, who lives in Warrington, Cheshire, will say that Kerry's husband Mark wanted to sleep with her. The book will also delve into the murky world of Kerry's drug-taking and her spells in rehab. Sue blames her daughter for getting her hooked on drugs and claims she had never tried cocaine before Kerry introduced it to her. A friend said: "This will make their relationship beyond repair but Sue feels she's got nothing to lose. She can't see her grandchildren and Kerry's not speaking to her so she wants to get her side of the story across. "This book will be revenge for the comments Kerry put in her own autobiography which Sue thought were unfair." Kerry, who has just signed another deal to advertise for Iceland, will be furious that cash-strapped Sue is using her name to get £100,000 for writing the book. Kerry wrote about her upbringing in her 2006 autobiography Too Much, Too Young. In it, she revealed that her mother had been a drug-addict and an alcoholic when she was growing up and her dad was a married man who left them both before she was born. Kerry told how her life became so bad she went to social services herself and asked to be put in care because her mother couldn't cope and she would often have to put her drunk mum into bed. She described how she suffered due to her mother's violent mood swings and how one night she saw Sue's gangster boyfriend stab her in the leg. Kerry wrote that because she was forced to spend so much time in pubs as a child her only ambition was to become a barmaid. Sue was paid £50,000 at the time to assist with Kerry's autobiography - yet now she claims she felt so low after the book came out she tried to commit suicide. In response to Kerry's memoirs Sue gave an interview waging war on her daughter's lifestyle and said it was Kerry who first gave her cocaine, claiming she had seen her daughter chopping up lines of the drug on the kitchen counter after dropping her children off at school. Sue also disapproved of Kerry dating Mark Croft, whom she later married and now appears with in MTV reality show Crazy In Love. Kerry has stopped talking to her mum and banned her from seeing her four children - Molly, six, and Lilly-Sue, five, from her marriage to Brian McFadden and her children Heidi, one, and two-month-old Max with Mark. Kerry said at the time: "She's a nasty piece of work - she took me for a ride. The only time I'll get peace from that woman is when she's dead." But the row even extended to Mark's family. On New Year's Eve Kerry had a massive fight with mother-in-law Marilyn Croft, 59, who accused Kerry of slapping her. Kerry, who was pregnant at the time, retaliated by saying Marilyn had attacked her and that she feared for the life of her unborn child. Then both Sue and Marilyn poured salt in the wound when they gave an interview to a magazine saying that Mark was only with Kerry for her money. Kerry has recently had to deal with rumours that her husband has been cheating on her after he was photographed embracing a mystery brunette outside a club. Meanwhile, Sue this month pleaded guilty to claiming £5,622 in income support despite earning thousands from selling interviews about her daughter. But she failed to show up at court because she said she suffered from agoraphobia and could not leave her house. MUM'S SHOCK CLAIMS: Kerry was a prostitute before she hit big time Her new husband Mark tried to seduce me She offered to have sex in return for drugs I never took cocaine until my daughter got me hooked KERRY KATONA'S RAGS TO RICHES STORY Queen of the Jungle Kerry Katona pulled herself up from nothing to make her multi-million-pound fortune as a singer and celebrity. Kerry Jayne Elizabeth Katona was born in September 1980 in Warrington, Cheshire to a drunken mother and a life of poverty. Shunted around dif ferent foster homes as a youngster, she had to survive on her wits, even asking social services to take her in when her mum couldn't cope. At 16 she left school to work as a lap dancer before joining a dance troupe to tour Europe. In 1998 she landed a spot in Liverpool girl band Atomic Kitten. One year later they had their first hit, Right Now. Kerry left the group in 2001 when she became pregnant with Westlife singer Brian McFadden's baby and the pair married in 2002. The couple had two children Molly, now six, and Lilly-Sue, five. Kerry's down-to-earth personality won her the public vote in 2004's I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here and her fame soared - but her personal life was crumbling. She split from husband Brian and spiralled into a world of drug abuse and depression which led to a stint in rehab. Kerry married new love Mark Croft in Gretna Green on Valentine's Day 2007, and appears with him in reality show Crazy In Love for music channel MTV. Today the couple live in Wilmslow, Cheshire, with the children from her first marriage and their own two children Heidi, one, and two-month-old Max. Kerry has written an autobiography as well as two fiction novels and recently secured a second advertising contract with supermarket Iceland. Mirror |
