Matthew Crompton has reportedly been in talks to star in ITV reality show 'I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here!'

The 37-year-old actor - who was fired from 'Coronation Street' after less than a year on the soap - is said to be considering going into the Australian jungle as part of the TV series.

Matthew - who has previously turned down the chance to star in 'Dancing On Ice' - admits he is considering all offers.

He said: "Everyone's got to work and pay the rent. Between acting jobs I'd rather get out and do other things than sit on the dole."

Producers are reportedly certain the actor - who stars as lothario Dan Mason in the soap - will soon sign a contract.

Other celebrities who have been approached to appear in the show include Donny Osmond, jockey Frankie Dettori and 'Emmerdale' star Deena Payne.

Bookies William Hill have seen a gamble on Carol Vorderman to take part in I'm A Celebrity and have halved the price from 8/1 to 4/1 that she is one of the original starters. Hills also offer 1/2 that Chris Eubank is a contestant, with Des O'Connor offered at 5/1 to take part.

"For the first time we have odds for who will take part in I'm A Celebrity and the early money suggests that Carol could well be counting us down in the jungle," said Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams.
