The very well backed I'm A Celebrity winner Joe Swash finished as the 1/8 favourite to win with bets of up to £5,000 placed on Joe with William Hill in the final hours of betting.
"We have lost a small fortune but Joe Swash is a worthy winner and I expect to see him in panto soon. In total, we estimate that about £5 million was wagered on I'm A Celebrity, most of which was for Joe Swash." said William Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams.
Joe winning the series was one of the worst results for the bookies in reality TV betting history.
The bookies are offering odds of 100/1 for David Van Day and Timmy Mallett to have the Christmas number one this year.
The Dynamic Duo are 5/1 to spend next December doing a panto together where they are 8/1 to be the panto horse, 12/1 the ugly sisters and 16/1 to be Grumpy & Dopey.
