Shaun Ryder wanted to appear on 'Strictly Come Dancing'. The 'Step On' hitmaker - who was famously banned by Channel 4 from appearing on live TV following a foul-mouthed outburst on 'TFI Friday' - accepted an offer to take part in the contest, but his appearance was blocked by worried BBC chiefs. He said: "I got offered 'Strictly'. The producers wanted me and I was up for I but the head of the BBC said he wouldn't take a chance on Shaun Ryder doing prime-time TV on a Saturday night.
