Tony Blackburn To Sing Live On Radio 2

Broadcasting legend Tony Blackburn will perform his 1971 single Chop Chop in front of a live audience - for the first time in 40 years.

The DJ will be live in Blackburn as part of this year’s Radio 2 2Day. He will be broadcasting his show from the Blackburn Empire, where he will be joined by fellow Radio 2 presenters Janice Long and Mark Radcliffe. The show will be an hour of chat and music and will feature a live performance by Paul Heaton - the man behind The Housemartins and The Beautiful South.

Blackburn said: “I’m so excited about bringing the show to Blackburn - and even more excited about performing Chop Chop! I haven’t performed it in front of an audience for about 40 years so I’m sure there’ll be a few nerves mixed in with the excitement. But we have a great show lined up and it’s going to be great fun.”

Radio 2 2Day is on Thursday, May 10.

I don't know about Tony Blackburn, but Paul Heaton from Beautiful South is good.
