He only flew to South Africa on Sunday to film his new ITV2 fly-on-the-wall show, but Joey Essex has already run into a spot of bother.

The Only Way Is Essex star was rushed to hospital after being bitten by a monkey, the animal he specifically went out there to meet.

The 'reem' star had gone to Randburg flea market in Johannesburg ahead of travelling to the Ugandan jungle in search of wild monkeys and that's where the attack took place.

So it seems fitting that the title of Joey Essex new TV series is a cheeky play on words - Educating Joey Essex.

The former I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here contestant flew out to Africa at the beginning of the year to film the fly-on-the-wall documentary series over a period of 13 days.
