The Mirror Online Saturday 17th January 04 I'M A NUTTER - GET ME IN HERE! I'm a Celebrity line-up THEY are the worst bunch of has-beens and misfits to have been assembled by TV freak show I'm a Celebrity - Get Me Out of Here! Between them, they can boast three boob jobs, a string of expletives, a dope test and a conviction for fraud. Add to that a mix of domestic violence, a broadcaster "more royal than the royals" and an ex-footballer known as Razor and you have a timebomb. Here, we give you an insight into who's who and what baggage they will be taking on January 26 to the ITV series set in the Australian jungle. KERRY McFADDEN Ex-Atomic Kitten singerTHE former girl band singer and mum of two lives with husband Westlife star Bryan. But Kerry, 23, had a tough childhood in a one-bed council flat in Warrington, Cheshire with schizophrenic mum, Susan. Kerry once had to sell her pet parrot to pay for sanitary towels. NEIL RUDDOCK Football hardman FORMER Liverpool, Spurs and England defender, now 35, earned a "bad boy" reputation. Razor was once sent off for head-butting but later cleaned up his act - on the pitch at least.
Allegedly he hit Robbie Fowler in an airport and also cheated on his wife. Rest of article |

Celebs Refuse Drug Tests: Taken from the Sunday People: It seems the celeb are refusing to take drug tests. They said they are under enough pressure already. The bosses at ITV wanted the tests done so they can deal with any emergencies such as snake bites during their stay inthe aussie jungle. The bosses at Granada are furious and the medical team have demanded the contestants' health records instead. "Many medicines can have dangerous reactions when mixed inside the human body. Snake bites especially require toxic medication to cure the venom." "Their safety is our priority but under no circumstances would Granada leave themselves open to be sued." This year the show bosses said the bushtucker trials the toughest yet. But one already seems doomed to failure: They've asked foul-mouthed Jordan to moderate her language. Sorry no link |

I think one or two may dent their careers a bit this year, Jordan for one - What ever career she is in |

German I'm a celebrity show exposed as a con The German version of the TV reality series "I'm a celebrity - Get me out of here!" has been exposed as a con after it was revealed most of the dangers the stars were supposed to face are non-existent: Ananova |

This begs the question, if the German series is a con, then is our own one a con too ? |

....well, it's a "sanitised" ,jungle environment, that's been "swept", for dangers, and is more or less, an enclosed, open-air studio. (within a compound). ...they're not just dumped in a jungle clearing, if that's what you mean. |

It would cost the earth to insure the people - if it was a untouch/not cleared out jungle area... Plus if one celeb got injuried/died - what a field day the press would have re the makers of the program... Best be safe than sorry ... Its not the spiders etc I watch it for - its the celebs making fools of them selves... Infact the down fall for me re this program is the ill treatment of the animals - being eaten alive etc... |

I don't see why they have to eat them on the show (I can't even look at a maggot on the telly without feeling sick), but then, i'm sure in some countries they have to resort to eating food in that way, don't they? |

...the basis , of the show, is "survival", in a hostile environment. If you crash-landed or were parachuted into a jungle, you'd have a adapt, to the environment and live, off the land, as the bushmen, do, not scoff hamburgers and french-fries. Obviously, the celebs are given basic rations (rice etc) and occasional treats, to massage their morale, but they might as well, set the show in Croydon, rather than the Oz Jungle ,if they can't be expected to eat the local "delicacies".
Though some believe, and it's often been claimed, that the whole shows a con and their not actualy in the Oz jungle... |

I never thought it looked like a proper jungle, but then i've never been to the jungle - but i would expect a lion or a tiger or even a monkey to go and see what these funny looking things that seem to communicate strangely and have little body hair and these big 'teets', and are covering up their private bits are if you get the jist. Every programme i've watched on monkeys says that basically they have an inquisitive nature and would investigate their territory! i would if the likes of Jordan were there and i'd get rid of her too!!! |
