I’M A Celebrity bosses fear John Lydon is set to quit the show after throwing an almighty strop.

Lydon, 47, better known as punk star Johnny Rotten, has refused to co-operate since arriving in Oz.

The show starts on Monday and an insider said: “We’re just holding our breath that he actually makes it into the jungle, but it’s looking doubtful.”

Yesterday Lydon had to be forced to do some filming with Jordan, Alex Best, Kerry McFadden, Neil Ruddock, Lord Brocket, Peter Andre, Jennie Bond, Diane Modahl and Mike Read.

One source said: “He was being really surly and sulky.”

otherwise we'll get Timmy Mallett

EX-KIDS’ TV presenter Timmy Mallett is flying to Oz set to replace Lydon.

He said: “I hear there are problems.”

The former children's television presenter is already in Australia as a stand-by contestant.

Lydon has reportedly been "surly and uncooperative" since arriving in Australia for the show, sparking speculation he could quit.

Mallet would seem an odd potential replacement for the former Sex Pistol.

He arrived in Australia sporting blue and ginger hair and brandishing his trademark mallet at airport photographers.

ITV has denied rumours that Lydon was about to quit the show.

But he was said to be "surly and sulky" after he was forced to do some filming with the other contestants
