Nancy peeks into footballers' lives
Nancy Dell'Olio, partner of England football manager Sven-Goran Eriksson, is to present a new MTV show providing a glimpse of the gaudy delights to be found in the homes of leading soccer stars.
Footballers' Cribs, which launches on Sunday, will feature the palatial pads of footballers including Liverpool's Harry Kewell, Blackburn's Robbie Savage and Manchester United's Louis Saha.
"Nancy is a dream signing for us. She's the first lady of football, so is in the perfect position to give us a real insider's view. She's also a very smart lady with a brilliant sense of humour," said Sean Murphy, the executive producer of Footballers' Cribs.
It is the first TV presenting gig for the on-off partner of the England coach, and could mark the start of a new career for the Italian lawyer who has struggled to make a mark outside the tabloids - which have taken a feverish interest in the infidelities of her partner.
Three years ago Ms Dell'Olio was a guest presenter at the National TV Awards and she has promoted charities subsequently, but she has otherwise remained an underdeveloped commodity in planet celebrity.
Kewell's Cheshire mansion features a plasma screen in every room - two in the bathroom - and a walk-in handbag and shoe room for his wife, the former Emmerdale actress Sheree Murphy.
Another Cheshire resident, Savage, has a white leather bed and chaise longue, while Saha's pad features spaceship-inspired touches.
Other highlights of the series include Charlton player Mark Fish's full-scale Egyptian Mummy CD rack, and the garage converted into a home cinema in the house belonging to Fulham's Luis Boa Morte.
Footballers' Cribs will also feature fixtures and fittings belonging to Stan Collymore, Newcastle's Shola Ameobi and Manchester City's Antoine Sibierski.
