Repeat: 4sev Tue 9 Oct 11:05pm The Jewish News has launched this competition, raising questions about what makes the perfect Jewish mother and honouring, with the help of some celebrity guests, the qualities they’re best-loved for. It takes a cool mum to observe, after Heston Blumenthal has dropped in by surprise to scrutinise her efforts, that he probably disapproves of a packet sponge because he’s more a cheese-and-crackers man.
Judges Tracy-Ann Oberman and Dovid Katz preside over Apprentice-style eliminations, and in traditional fashion, the competition so far is all about the food.
1/4. Competition in which eight women compete for the title. Their first challenge is to organise a 13-year-old's bar mitzvah, and judges Tracy-Ann Oberman and Dovid Katz expect a show-stopping cake as well as canapes, goody bags, entertainment and cocktails for more than 170 of the boy's family and friends. The contestants split themselves into pairs to each deliver one aspect of the task, and at the end of the episode two mums face elimination.
