It's Over! Kylie Minogue Quits The Voice UK After Only One Season

Kylie Minogue seems to be on her way out from The Voice UK, after taking over for former judge Jessie J just last season. The 45-year-old singer is leaving due to conflicting schedules with her tour.

The pop star made the announcement to The Mirror on Friday that she would no longer be a judge on the show.

“I’m touring this year and the timings wouldn’t work,” she explained. “We started filming in November last year for the show and this year I’m on tour in September, October and November.”

She also admitted to the paper that she found working on The Voice to be a “taxing” and difficult to handle. Having to deal with a lot of emotions took a toll on her.

“Being on the show is a huge commitment,” she admitted. “I have loved it although there have been parts which have been really difficult, too taxing and emotional. You can’t second guess yourself. You deal with a lot of decisions and emotions.”

Kylie Minogue is currently promoting her twelfth studio album Kiss Me Once, which was released earlier this month.

13/14. Emma Willis and Marvin Humes present the live semi-final of the singing competition. Remaining eight acts Jermain, Sophie May, Jamie, Lee, Sally, Bizzi, Chris and Christina Marie each perform a carefully selected song before taking part in a group number with their coaches for the first time, hoping to persuade viewers to put them into the final - and tonight voters have total control as all the artists are eligible. While the audience at home makes its decision, Enrique Iglesias and Shakira take to the stage, giving the contestants an idea of what now lies within their grasp.

The wrong songs, wrong guests, wrong winners... The Voice UK still can't get anything right

Given the title of the show, there was a certain irony at watching its guest ‘global superstars’, lip-syncing, with Shakira in particular performing some epic, heroic miming to Empire while dressed in her nightie and battling a wind tunnel.

Enrique Iglesias meanwhile showed himself to be such an amazing singer, he found time to stop off and kiss Kylie midway through his ‘performance’ of Freak.

While his vocals carried on ! Like a ventriloquist !
