Bookies tip Britain’s Got Talent to triumph over The Voice in ratings after schedule clashBritain’s Got Talent has been tipped to score a resounding victory over The Voice in the ratings when the two shows go head to head later this month.
The ITV show kicks off its new series next Saturday night – with schedules released earlier this week revealing that it will be screened at the earlier time of 7pm, leading to a 75-minute overlap with The Voice.
And bookmakers William Hill don’t fancy BBC One’s chances of emerging triumphant in the latest weekend showdown, offering odds of 1-5 on Talent being crowned winner on April 13.
Those who fancy a flutter on The Voice can get odds of 10-3 on it beating its ratings rival.
Saturday night TV is all about the viewer, but it seems as though this war between ITV and the BBC will result in one show completely outstripping its rival and in this case, we can see The Voice trounced by BGT,’ said William Hill’s Joe Crilly.
Britain’s Got Talent was screened at 8pm last year, leading to only a small overlap with The Voice, although ITV sources have claimed the programme is being shown earlier this year following the success of other recent shows – including Saturday Night Takeaway and Splash! – in the 7pm timeslot.
The Voice debuted at 7pm last Saturday night but will move to 6.45pm next weekend.
