I heard Javine say last night she wanted to beat Amanda....

Amanda may not be getting sucked into the little old me agenda they put on about every event they do and cant hide the fact that they get up her nose as well as Bernie is at the moment.

Jumpin' Jade Flash

Pre-race favourite Jade soared to victory in the Water-Ski Jump, while Adam managed his first ever clearance and finished third.

Jade never looked in danger. He tackled the ramp with aggression, sucked up the landing and held his balance superbly. And while he looked disappointed with his distance of 9.1m (below his PB), it proved enough to beat his closest rival Peter by 1.5m.

Jade may have taken the five points, but Adam had reason to be even happier with his third-place finish. Having barely trained in the run-up to the event, he produced his best-ever jump with a cracking time of 7.2m, narrowly missing out on second spot to Peter.

Adam looked nervous as he approached the ramp and wobbled on the landing, but managed to stay on his feet, and he punched the air in delight as he skied away. He also gained an extra point for getting a PB time.

Plat'num just managed to keep his footing to finish in fourth place with a distance of 6.4m.

JK was the only athlete who failed to make a successful landing. He looked good in the approach but lost control as his skis hit the water.

Jade paid tribute to Adam at the end, "I'm excited I won but Adam has done amazingly well, it's his first ever clearance."

Adam was relieved, saying, "A few days ago I didn't think I'd be able to do it. It's my third jump ever, and I've never landed before."

Will Adam be a challenger in the competition after all? After tonight's display, anything is possible. Ch4

I know we discussed how skinny and unfit we thought Adam looked, but last night he was in the hot-tub with Peter and he looked like he was going to passout or be sick  He also looks like he has lost weight since he joined the show and his two black eyes just goes to make him look like a lost soul… :-? :-( :-(

You have to hand it to her blags she holds her nerve and gets the job done. But there is something about the look in her eye that leaves me feeling I would not like her as a friend.

The Archers

A quivering Javine added another string to her bow when she scored victory over Amanda in a tense Archery final.

'The Machine' held her nerve in the eerie silence of the Velodrome to post scores of 70, 80 and 90 in the head-to-head showdown. Amanda crumbled under the pressure of her first winning opportunity, scoring 150 overall.

Michelle finished third after losing her bottle for the first time this week. She followed up a superb 90-point hit in round two by completely missing the board in round three.

Julia fell in round two after hitting the outer black, while Bernie's wayward first round attempt was her only contribution of the night.

Amanda took consolation from moving off the bottom spot, saying: "I'm really happy. I would loved to have won, but I'm just so pleased I got into the final."

A relieved Javine said: "My heart was beating so fast and my hands were shaking but I just had to keep my cool."

Is there nothing this girl can't do?

The Wheel Deal

JK paid the price for a premature burst as Jade pipped him to victory in a thrilling Cycling final.

Jade trailed for the whole race before launching a decisive attack on the home straight and crushing JK's dreams of a first Games win. The lead switched three times in the race, with Peter making an explosive start and taking control. But JK was breathing down his neck the whole time, and made his move after two laps by powering past Peter.

The man in white looked set for his maiden victory, leading by three lengths going into the final lap. But Jade had other ideas as he glided past the tiring Peter and took on JK.

As the leader wobbled frantically, Jade found an extra gear and passed him metres before the finish line with a winning time of 1.16.03.

He seemed shocked at his win, saying: "I don't know how I pulled it out of the bag, JK is super-fast. But I found energy from somewhere and now I can't breathe."

Meanwhile, JK was left to rue his hasty spurt: "I went too early, I should have left it a little bit longer," he lamented. "But I tried my hardest."

Well when you consider the nearest to her age is gayle aged 30, the young oub has no competition. i would expect her to win most events based on her background of dancing etc. As for keeping her nerve. what she keeps best of all is an air of arogance. i did note with interest that she was boo`d by some last night {@} {@}

Her and gayle do have a very unpleasant air about them. listening to gayle speak makes me realise she would soon wear on me, her use of the phrases "do you understand" "do you get what I`m telling you" while mid normal convo are the tactics of peeps that demand to be always the centre of attention .

Bernie Nolan is someone i would get on with. worked with many lasses like her, up for a laugh and dosent take herself too seriously ...
