Desperate bosses try to sign up Heather

HOW daft can you get... Celebrity Love Island bosses are getting so desperate to find single stars to appear on the sinking show they only went and asked Heather "It- Was-Only-A-Lovers'-Guide" Mills McCartney to sign up.

The ITV programme is due to return for a second series this summer - and it seems that whenever a showbiz relationship hits the buffers, anxious execs are quickly on the phone...trying to mend the poor soul's broken heart with the chance of three weeks in Fiji.

So, in one dopey producer's eyes at least, it was only natural they should turn to the most famous newlysingle woman in the world - and offer her £150,000 to join Sophie Anderton and Gazza's ex-wife Sheryl dipping their toes in the Indian Ocean. Now 150- grand may be a lot to most people - but not to the ex-model, who is due to get around £50m in her divorce settlement from estranged hubby Paul. And, not surprisingly, she turned down their "interesting career opportunity".

I can also reveal that Jude Law's ex-lover, nanny Daisy Wright, above, has turned down £100,000- plus to appear on the show. And so has Jack Osbourne. "At first Daisy was tempted but when she found out how tawdry the show really is she pulled out," a source said. "She's never wanted to be a celeb. So we still don't know what date this is meant to be kicking off or even if it is kicking off??

I have seen it advertised with other programme's that must be starting soon, but ITV haven't said a date yet, I thought it was going to start the same time as BB.

CLI will start this coming Monday(10th) and will go head to head against BB with a 9pm slot.
Stars rumoured to be appearing are Sheryl Gascoigne and her daughter,Sophie Anderton and a load of people who's name I recognised when I saw them,but they are obviously so famous their names escape me and I can't find the paper now.And in any case it's probably not true

The stars ITV hopes will entertain viewers by looking for romance in the second series of Love Island have been unveiled.

The word celebrity has been dropped from the original title of the series, which will be going up against Big Brother on Channel 4.

TV bosses have signed up 11 names for the show - six women and five men - instead of last year's 12, meaning that one of the male contestants could feel a gooseberry right from the start.

The line-up includes Chris Brosnan, 33, ex-James Bond star Pierce's former drug addict son.

Chris finally ended his £200-a-day habit after his father publicly cut him off following his arrest for possessing heroin.

Love Island will also be home to Bianca Gascoigne, 19, the step-daughter of another famous name - England football legend Paul.

She said: "I'm absolutely petrified, but it will be an experience."

Other Island stars include reality TV stalwart Sophie Anderton, 29, who appeared in I'm a Celebrity Get Me out of Here!.

Lady Victoria Hervey, 29, the sister of Lady Isabella Hervey from the last series, is also on board, saying: "I like a guy who can make me laugh."

The other females are former Eternal singer Kelle Bryan, 31, glamour model Alicia Douvall, 27, who says her ideal man is Radio 1 DJ Chris Moyles, and Playboy Playmate and Club DJ Colleen Shannon, 24.

Strictly Come Dancing ballroom dancer Brendan Cole, 30, who shot to fame following his dalliance with the BBC's Natasha Kaplinsky, is also on board.

He describes his ideal woman as "classy, giving and caring" but adds that "anyone who is loud, obnoxious, common or brassy is a big turn off for me".

The other men are former Boyzone star Shane Lynch, 29, Hollyoaks actor Lee Otway, 24, and The Streets singer Leo Ihenacho, 29.

Last year's Celebrity Love Island started badly, but finished with around five million viewers and grabbed the advertiser-friendly youth audience.

The series, which begins on Monday, is being hosted by Patrick Kielty and Fearne Cotton.

Executive producer Rachel Arnold said: "Even in a paradise location like Fiji our celebrities won't be safe from a few surprises.

"But we'll be keeping them all under wraps until the last minute."

After learning about the line-up for this year’s Love Island, we think the producers of Big Brother can relax.

Wisely, they’ve opted to drop “celebrity” from its title, paving the way for Z-list wannabes to burn on a tropical beach and pretend to fancy each other.

As the Star eagerly informs us, the criteria this year seems to be signing up ‘stars’ who’ve appeared on past reality-type TV shows.

Step forward troubled model Sophie Anderton, who proved to be fairly level-headed when she was on I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here; Shanye Lynch, the heavily tattooed ex-boyzone lad who was ace at diving on The Games; and last and least, Brendan Cole, who waltzed Natasha Kaplinsky off her feet on the first series of Strictly Come Dancing.

Er, and that’s about as good as it gets.

Scraping the bottom of the ‘celeb’ ocean, we’ve got Bianca Gascoigne – stepdaughter of Gazza – who is keen to model her bikini for the paper before touching down on the Fijian island.

There’s the guy who played Bombhead in teen soap Hollyoaks, ex-External singer, Kelle Bryan, posh sort Lady Victoria Hervey, some glamour model called Colleen Shannon, Pierce Brosnan’s son, Chris, and Leo Ihenancho who sings with Mike Skinner in The Streets.

And, saving the best for last, the lovely Alicia Douvall is set to bare all, which hopefully means discussing her past conquests, who allegedly include; Mickey Rourke, Dennis Rodman, P. Diddy, Dwight Yorke and Simon Cowell.
If they’d managed to bag that lot, we wouldn’t leave the sofa for two weeks.

Shock at double beds ploy


THE Love Island 11 will be getting close sooner than they thought after discovering the set features five double beds and one single.

The five men and six women were gobsmacked when they arrived at the resort in Fiji and saw the sleeping arrangements for the next seven weeks.

Show bosses were keeping details of their arrival under wraps and counting on one girl to be left out in the single bed.


But an insider said: "Some of the guys opted to be chivalrous by letting the girls take a choice.

"A smart move because the guys will get definite signals if a girl - or two - wants to join them."

And if a couple hit it off, they can always try to get access to the Queen-sized bed in the nearby Love Shack - a private getaway from the main areas of the resort. The source added: "The Love Shack has a real oriental feel with its black, red and white. Romance is on the cards for any couple staying there."

Paul Gascoigne's stepdaughter Bianca leads the girls' line-up which includes ex-Eternal singer Kelle Bryan, It Girl Lady Victoria Hervey, and models Colleen Shannon, Sophie Anderton and Alicia Douvall.

The guys are James Bond star Pierce Brosnan's son Chris, ex-Hollyoaks star Lee Otway, The Streets singer Leo Ihenacho, Strictly Come Dancing star Brendan Cole and ex-Boyzone hunk Shane Lynch.

This Friday sees the first eviction, with someone leaving every week, following regular bitching sessions in the Diary Room.
