Does anybody have any info about a program beleived to be Norwegen called Single 24/7 ? It appears to have a number of single people in a Big Brother type house where they are monitored 24/7. Live coverage was found on a Viasat channel on the Sirius Satellite at 5 East. The channel is encrypted. There might be internet coverage but I don't know where to find the homepage to investigate. |

Forgive my stupidity but should they not just keep the name BB rather than Single 24/7?!!! Or is this a ploy to get HMs 'together'? Secondly, s'cuse my ignorance....what does 'The channel is encrypted' mean? Cheers Larry |

I think the main ploy is as you put it for contestants to 'get it together'. From what can gather there are a few differences like the house appears to be a studio similar to back to reality. They are not totally isolated from the outside . Must find a Norwegen translator to have a go at the website. 'Encrypted' means that the satellite channel is a subscription channel. And before anybody says it I don't have a pirate card or a PC emulator to view the channel when it's encrypted which most of the time apart from the odd clitch. I do have active subscriptions for the current Swedish and Italian BB series. Plus free-to-air coverage of the German and Romanian BB series plus up to date news with loads of daliy pictures for at least 3 other BB series and another forum. Not enough hours in the day to keep track of everything that's going on. |

Thanks Larry So I guess they will get limited freedom to come and go from the house. I didn't watch a lot of BTR so not really sure the extent of their 'freedom'! I'm presuming that they had to be in the house between certain times etc?! Ah right re: Encrypted channels....your post now makes sense. Tell me, you watch all these different BB programes...can you speak/understand the language each one is in? Do you have a subtitle facility or something? Have you ever looked into joining the BB work force? |

So you could have a couple of camera men plus a guest. Quote: Ah right re: Encrypted channels....your post now makes sense. Tell me, you watch all these different BB programes...can you speak/understand the language each one is in? Do you have a subtitle facility or something? I wish. I can recognised a few words but in now way can I speak the different languages. Written text is easier as there are on-line translation sites that can alot of the time make an English translation that you can follow. But others have words from other languages that I might recognise that sometimes allows you to fill in the gaps. But the other thing is that alot of the contestants have travelled and can and do at times speak English in small groups. Besides you can workout from their actions what is going on and their emotions at that time. Apply some basic Pyschology and watch the body language and you have the universal language of the world ,not that I'm a Pyschologist but I've a few books on the subject that I've read. Quote: Have you ever looked into joining the BB work force? Now that is something that I'd never thought of. Admittedly I'd love to do the whole BB experience as a contestant and did make the audition stage last year and had my crazy video repeated on E4 for whole period they were being shown. Working on the otherside could be interesting ,last year I must have watched at least as much as any single producer and still have around 1300hrs on tape that's getting recorded over this year. Last year's set-up involved two PCs running the webfeeds 24/7 a video for each PC to record them. A third video to record the channel 4 programs and 2 portable tvs to watch both feeds. Oh and a third PC to use the forums all networked with a high speed broadband internet connection. Due to the levels of activity on most forums during the show I was posting quite often in the Channel 4 live updates forum. |

Hi Larry You seem to be very knowledgable regarding both national and international BB, and gifted with technology. This combination IMO would be a great asset to the production team and well worth considering for future, provided it is an area you could & would like to see yourself go into. Just a thought/ reflextion. Would be great if you could let us know if anything happens.

Thanks for that. It's certainly opened up a few ideas and would certainly be more interesting than what I do now. I already have a relation that works in tv production on the video side who I beleive is now working for a London based company after many years working for Southern and then Meridian. If anything comes of these ideas then I'll certainly make it known on here. |
