HEWITT CALLS COKE BUST COPS 'DREADFUL PIGS' LOVE rat James Hewitt has launched an astonishing tirade against police, the Royal Family and the Blairs. The former cavalry officer, who kissed-and-told on Princess Diana, said: "I hate this bloody country." Hewitt, 46, arrested 12 days ago on suspicion of possessing cocaine, ranted: "My life is over." Recalling his detention outside a Chelsea bar, he added: "Those dreadful pigs, don't they have anything better to do than haul me off in handcuffs? "The whole thing is disgraceful. Walk into any bar in London and you'll find people with cocaine. I don't even do coke. "I'm not going into details, but they got me after seven, eight hours of drinking. I had no idea what was going on at that stage. I was out of it." Hewitt was interviewed by police and freed on bail to report back in September. Former Sky News presenter Alison Bell, 37, was held with him on suspicion of supplying a Class A drug. She was also freed without charge to return in September. Hewitt told the Mail on Sunday that Britain had "nothing" for him. "I stood on a balcony at a friend's in New York a few months back and seriously considered throwing myself off. Would anyone care? I doubt it." He advocates abolishing the Royal Family. "The Queen has done a useless job as a mother and as a monarch," he said. Hewitt went on: "Britain has gone to the dogs. The people are awful, uneducated and cruel. "Tony Blair and that horrible harpy wife of his have sold this country down the river." Police refused comment on his remarks. Mirror |
