WANNABE pop stars on talent show X Factor have had to agree not to thump acid-tongued judge Simon Cowell.

The clause is just one condition in a 3,000 word legal list of do's and don'ts for the eager hopefuls.

And if they don't abide by it all they face being chucked out.

Fellow ITV judges Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh are also strictly off limits - as are rival competitors. They must also not trash hotels or the luxury homes of the judges.

An insider said: "It's a watertight deal which really turns the screws. The contestants are locked in.

"It's a bit harsh. But when they sign they are so desperate to make it, they will agree to practically anything.
