Footballers leave TV cameras into their homes
Footballers are allowing the cameras into their homes for a new reality TV show.
Former footballer Stan Collymore and Blackburn player Robbie Savage are two of the names who have signed up for the show.
Footballers’ Cribs will hit TV screens in June, and each of the six episodes will feature two players.
The show, which follows the success of ITV fictional drama Footballers’ Wives, is “dedicated to exploring the homes of footballing heroes”.
It will also star French Manchester United player Louis Saha, Liverpool forward Harry Kewell, whose wife is ex-Emmerdale star Sheree Murphy, and former Chelsea and Italy player Roberto Di Matteo.
Former England player and ex-Aston Villa striker Collymore has become more well known for his antics off rather than on the pitch.
His reputation was shattered when he hit his then lover Ulrika Jonsson – and more recently over his “dogging” exploits.
MTV executive producer Sean Murphy said: “Players’ lifestyles have never been more high-profile, so to dedicate a series of Cribs to them makes perfect sense.
“We’re thrilled to be bringing our viewers an intimate look at these stars’ personal style on their very own home turf.”
