KOOL AS ICE

EXCLUSIVE Andy's ex gets her skates on
By Lara Gould Tv Reporter

PRINCE Andrew's ex Koo Stark is to take to the rink for ITV celebrity skate-off Dancing on Ice.

The erotic actress-turned-photographer has been out of the limelight since the trauma of surgery to beat breast cancer in 2003.

She and Andrew fell in love in the 80s but she was ruled out as a Royal bride because of her soft-porn past.

Insiders are tipping American Koo, 50, to be the surprise hit of the skating series when it returns in the new year.

The posh single mum is expected to lock blades with former England footballer Lee Sharpe, TV presenter Donna Air, ex- Blue singer Duncan James and Radio 1 DJ Scott Mills when the celebrity show returns in January.

Actress Lysette Anthony - a 1980s pin-up - plus ex-EastEnder Michelle Gayle, Liberty X beauty Kelli Young, yachtswoman Tracy Edwards and ITV weather girl Becky Mantin are also being lined up for the 11-week series.

An insider said: "There won't be any space for big egos when the contestants get on the ice.

"The stars of the last series set a very high benchmark - so the new celebs have a lot to live up to. And they have been warned to expect pain, punishment and tears."

The Saturday night series proved a surprise ratings winner for ITV bosses - with audiences topping 10million each show.

More than 15million tuned in to the final to see Fat Friends star Gaynor Faye and professional dance partner Daniel Whiston win in March.

Steve Wright On Ice

Radio Two presenter Steve Wright said today he turned down an invitation to appear in the new series of the BBC's Dancing On Ice.

Appearing on ITV1's This Morning to plug his book Steve Wright's Book of Factoids, the DJ said he turned down the offer because: "I'm too old and can't skate."

He also implied that because of his daily radio show he would find it difficult to devote the time to the television programme. waveguide
