CELEBS' REALITY CHECK
18 February 200
TALKING about her stint on the BBC's celebrity courtroom show The Verdict, Ingrid Tarrant said rather imperiously: "The biggest surprise about the jurors was how quickly 'celebrity' fell away. We responded to the challenge as ordinary people."
Dear, dear... I like old Ingrid and she's been through a rough time but she does sound like someone with an inflated sense of her own status. The only reason she ever became a celebrity in the first place was by proxy - because she was married to one.
And second, when celebrities start dividing the world up into "us" (The Celebs) and "them" (The Plebs) then you're one step away from The Priory and a reality check that involves treatment for an oversized ego.
