| Post subject: | Crashing on Ice: Burley Kay-O'd |
DANCING On Ice star Kay Burley may have to quit after suffering a big fall and injuring her back in training. Kay, 46, crashed to the ground after her dance partner dropped her during a tricky routine. The sobbing Sky News anchor girl was stretchered away by paramedics and needed hospital treatment for the back injury. An insider said: “It was horrific. Kay had a real look of shock on her face — she looked in serious pain. You see quite a lot of accidents but this was a bad one.” A spokeswoman for the ITV show confirmed: “Medics are with her. It’s touch and go whether she will be able to perform.” It is Kay’s second nasty crash during training for the tough Saturday night show. TheSUN |

Calamity Kay crashes out! It started with a hoedown and ended in a showdown. And whilst, in the words of commentator Tony Gubba, Kay Burley "had more beatings than Rocky Balboa," in her hazardous journey to the fifth week, she finally came a cropper good and proper when she was pitted against Clare! If she'd been brave before it must have taken all her courage to take to the ice for the second time - although the plucky Sky News presenter must be well-used to skating for survival by now. By contrast, and despite her usually high scores taking a nosedive, former favourite Clare seemed rattled to find herself in the bottom two. But the actress kept her cool and delivered an emotional performance of Crazy that had her sisters sniffing in the audience, let alone us at home. The judges seemed to agree, opting across the board to save Clare to skate another day - and consigning Kay to the Dancing On Ice cooler. But Kay had one unselfish gesture to make before she headed for the hills, announcing that she was going to donate her fee to Macmillan Nurses. So Kay skates off to have a well-earned - and hopefully injury-free - rest...! ITV |

Jayne and Chris are excited! Torvill & Dean talk Take That! Only if you’d been on another planet far, far away, would you be forgiven for not knowing that Take That are performing alongside Torvill & Dean on Saturday’s show. And as anticipation builds in the next 48 hours, Jayne and Chris popped in to the Exclusive show to reveal all about rehearsing with the Brit Award winning boyband legends. So we’re just dying to know whether the guys will be gracing the ice! “They will be on the ice … but not on the ice,” Chris cryptically revealed to a beaming Ben Shephard. ”And their girls are on podiums!” he added. Did he say podiums? That would be a big hearty ole' yes people! “They’ve got high heels on too, which will be an issue,” Chris sighed, as our studio studs swooned in the background. And whilst we all drift off with the image of scantily clad dancers tottering across the rink in stilettos, Jayne and Chris reveal more about the crazy choreography. “We’re really excited because we’re really getting together and collaborating,” Chris explained. “It’s not just them performing and us skating.” Which, quite frankly, would blow us all away in itself! Time is ticking people, not long to wait now … You would be absolutely barking to miss the ITV1 action at 6.40pm on Saturday night. Barking, we tell you! Click here to watch Defrosted host Stephen talk Take That with Christopher Dean! ITV |

Watching the live feed. They are going to pre-record the opening tonight due to having to change so much after the Take-Take performance. They have the piano on the Ice ready ,and I think the recording has just started. |

I think what Philip meant was that they were only recording the opening ,the bit with him and Holly at the start. If so watch for the lack of judges at the start. The lighting effects that'll overlay the piano and the rink look good. |

Remember the props from last year ? Well they all appear to be back for next week. The trailer for next weeks show has Jayne pushing Chris across the ice sat on the chair wearing and carrying the other props. Unfortunately I was recording Defrosted else I'd give you the screen shot from the live feed. |

Tragedy: Lisa’s out! It was battle of the ex-pop bands as Lisa “Steps” and Duncan “Blue” were left in the bottom two. Both gave the performance of their life but Duncan’s inch perfect performance won the judges’ vote four to one with Robin picking his choice on “skate performance.” Lisa’s skate off was near perfection too but there had to be one loser tonight. Jason was furious! “I’m p***ed off at that result. We lost somebody who has great potential,” he said on ITV2’s Defrosted Results. Karen couldn’t hold her emotions either and when she voted for Duncan to come back next week, you could see tears rolling down her cheeks. “It was a shock that both Duncan and Lisa were in the Skate off,” she later said. There were stunned faces as Lisa took her skate of honour and with the voting so difficult to predict, there’s probably going to be more tears, tantrums and tension with the judges next week! ITV |

SundayMirror 25 February 2007 LISA'S HAD HER FINAL ICE STEPS LISA Scott-Lee skated off the rink for the final time last night in ITV1's Dancing on Ice. The 31-year-old ex-Steps singer and her partner Matt Evers lost out in the skate-off to former Blue star Duncan James and his partner Maria Filipov. But it was a much better night for actress Clare Buckfield, who was cheered on by her ex-love Declan Donnelly after skating into pole position. The 30-year-old actress, who has been accused of having skating experience, was supported by Dec, 31, from the audience. The couple split three years ago after Dec was rumoured to have spent the night with a lap dancer. Also out in the cold so far: Neil Fox, Phil Gayle, Ulrika Jonsson, Stephen Gately, Kay Burley. CELEBRITY skater Lee Sharpe's girlfriend Joanne Petty, 31, yesterday said she was overjoyed at being back together with the exfootballer. |

DUNCAN'S VERDICT ON HIS ICE-DANCE RIVALS 03/03/2007 EMILY SYMONS "A bundle of fun with an infectious smile, but the weakest skater. She'll have to work extra hard to stay in." KYRAN BRACKEN "He's probably won it already. He is hugely likeable, extremely fit and a great skater. And he's very competitive." LEE SHARPE "He's a wicked guy with a competitive streak - a bit lacking In the performance though. Maybe he's simply embarrassed to let himself go." CLARE BUCKFIELD "A graceful skater who could give Kyran a run for his money. But I don't think her personality's come out yet." Mirror |

FOOTIE'S LEE GETS THE BOOT EX-soccer star Lee Sharpe finally narrowly got the boot from ITV1's Dancing on Ice last night. Lee, 35, and his partner Frankie Philips lost out in the skate-off to actress Clare Buckfield and her partner Andre Lipanov. He was the bookie's favourite to get the axe and just two week's ago threatened to pull out of the show saying that it was too much pressure. But last night he said: "It's been a ball. I've come such a long way since I started." It was a better night for rugby ace Kyran Bracken, who scored the first ever perfect six points of the series. Judge Nicky Slater said it was good enough to be in a professional show. The four remaining celebs who will skate in next week's semi-final are Kyran, 35, Clare, 30, ex-Blue star Duncan James, 28, and Emmerdale's Emily Symons, 37. SundayMirror |
