Sarah Greene Pulls Out Of Ice Show

Former Blue Peter presenter Sarah Greene has quit Dancing On Ice at the 11th hour.

The presenter, 48, pulled out of the ITV1 show because of “family problems”.

She has been replaced by 2.4 Children actress Clare Buckfield.

The new series is set to begin on January 13.

Sarah Greene appeared earlier this evening on BBC Two's tribute to the Saturday morning children's show Swap Shop.

She was married in 1989 to fellow presenter Mike Smith.

Dancing On Ice

Ulrika Jonsson and singer Stephen Gately are among the celebrities competing in the second series of ITV1's Dancing on Ice.

They join nine other celebrities performing complex ice skating routines under the watchful eyes of former Olympic champions Torvill and Dean.

Other contestants include Magic DJ Neil Fox, and Emmerdale actress Emily Symons.

Former Steps singer Lisa Scott-Lee has vowed to continue in the show, despite breaking a rib during training.

She will be joined by former Manchester United footballer Lee Sharpe, Sky News presenter Kay Burley and actress Clare Buckfield from the BBC sitcom 2 Point 4 Children. Buckfield replaces Blue Peter's Sarah Greene who pulled out for "family reasons."

England rugby star Kieran Bracken, newsreader Phil Gayle and former Blue singer Duncan James are also taking part.

Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby will be hosting the live action which starts on January 13..

Once the series is finished, Torvill and Dean will be packing up the show and hitting the road for the first ever Dancing on Ice Tour.

Christopher Dean said: “We’re going to recreate the studio and have that event each night with the judges and celebrities – and indeed us!” waveguide

Foxy is voted off.

So! Kay and Foxy had to suffer the tense skate-off – and although they both stumbled a little - the judges chose to save the gorgeous Kay!

They both did so well with their crowd-pleasing moves and fabulous costumes – with just a couple of slips!

But the judges chose to oust poor Foxy.

That doesn’t mean he’ll be hanging up his skates! Far from it, indeed!

“I’ve had a great time, and this is all part of the show!” he beamed.

“I can skate and I’m going to keep skating! The Fox family really enjoy it too!” That’s the spirit!

As for the cheeky comments made by the judges earlier in the show, neither Foxy nor Kay were fazed by them.

“I’ve got a 13-year-old like him at home,” laughed Kay, “I could just tell him to go to his room!” Teehee! ITV

I watched this tonight and really enjoyed it. It was nice to watch a show:

- where the folk taking part were not having a laugh at the expense of others
- good clean family fun
- was actually hard work and effort for those taking part and you admired them for their efforts

hurrah {@}

I enjoyed the show as well, felicity. They still have to have the "nasty" judge to give the audience something to hiss at tho. ${

I really enjoyed the show and the follow-up shows on ITV2.

I noticed afterwards that someone had found the live satellite feed so that'll be something interesting to keep an eye on next time.

I think Claire and a couple of others will trance the wooden skaters very quickly so as longs as the public vote on ability the standards of everyone will surpass what we saw last year. I just hope that nobody gets too ambitious and gets seriously hurt over the coming weeks.

And hopefully at the end of the show they'll put more effort into the DVD this year. Last years were far too short and didn't do the show justice. Think the only interesting bit on the DVD was the last dress rehearsal of Bonnie's Bolero ,the one that we never got to see in the final.
