PETE'S P.A. 8th October at 10pm only on LIVING. Don't miss this rip-roaring elimination contest that puts 10 wannabe Personal Assistants through their paces, as they fight it out to be Pete Burns right hand man or woman. They need all the skills of a celebrity PA, the organisation, calmness, media savvy, discretion and communication skills. But they also have to able to deal with Pete Burns the person. Caustic putdowns, whimsical demands, outrageous blagging and an ability to be unshocked by absolutely everything Pete's crazy world throws at them, whether that's emergency botox, a tantrum over the loss of his make-up bag or a crazed fan jumping over the fence at 6am. livingtv |

Pete Burns spins round would-be PA Being personal assistant to the sharp-tongued Pete Burns would not be everyone's idea of a dream job. From his outbursts on Celebrity Big Brother, you might guess working for the flamboyant Dead or Alive singer would be dangerous and daunting. Iain Wood would disagree - and he should know. The 23-year-old from Brighton has just spent two months competing for the chance to be appointed Pete's right hand man or woman. The young footballer was picked from hundreds of hopefuls to be one of ten finalists in a challenge filmed for Living TV. Throughout the contest he had to live in a house in London with the other nine hopefuls while completing a different task every week. But far from having his head bitten off by the Eighties star, Iain found he and Pete struck up an easy friendship. He said: "Pete was very cool. I didn't really have much of a perception of him, I really didn't know much about him, which was a good thing because I didn't really judge him. "I am quite an open person. We got on like a house on fire. "When you get to know someone personally, you get to know the other side to them." Pete, famous for his song You Spin Me Round, personally picked the contenders at auditions held in May with help from Rob Yeung, the business psychologist, and Donna Couling, professional PA to stars such as Rachel Weisz and Helena Bonham-Carter. Iain was nervous at the audition but still managed to see off competition from hundreds of others. The winner was to be given the frightening task of organising Pete's wedding to his long-term boyfriend Michael Simpson. Iain said doing the show taught him that despite Pete's larger-than-life persona and eye-catching appearance he is "a normal person". He said: "The papers had said he was rude but that's a completely wrong perception, he is nicest bloke I know. He hated eliminations." Iain, who lives with his dad in Patcham and used to play for Brighton and Hove Albion under-21s, applied for the show because he "really wanted the job". At the time he was working on the railways. He said: "I applied to do the job to do something different. I have always done manual things and I thought it would be a good change. "I really did enjoy the experience of doing it and I learned a lot about myself. It has given me a lot more confidence. I was a bit scared of standing up in front of people and talking." During the show, contestants were not allowed to leave the house unless they were accompanied by a film crew. Iain said: "It was a bit like Big Brother. You were allowed to go out but you always had to have a camera with you." The decisions about who should be eliminated were taken by Pete with Sadly, although Iain put up a good fight, he did not get the job. He has now set up his own lettings agency in Brighton called Harwood Lettings. Pete's PA begins on Living TV on Monday. theargus |

Pete Burns“ wants Madonna as his PA Pete Burns wants Madonna to be his PA because he thinks it would "get her off her pedestal". The 'Dead or Alive' singer - who is searching for a new personal assistant on Living TV reality show 'Pete's PA' - said the 'Material Girl' singer would be perfect for the role. Pete told Britain's Star magazine: "I'd say Madonna would be perfect. It would do her good to roll her sleeves up and do a day's work. She'd clean well, and she'd be a great PA. Step down off your pedestal, b***h, and be my PA! It would do her good." Pete - who reignited his career with his appearance on 'Celebrity Big Brother' in 2006 - also said while he admires Madonna for how well she has done, he thinks she may have had some help. The 48-year-old cross dresser said: "I didn't used to, but now I completely admire her drive and ambition. "And she's looking good for her age, but so am I! Just because you're 50, doesn't mean you're ready for a f***ing stairlift, does it? She looks good in a leotard, but it could be after liposuction, and a tummy tuck. Nothing's organic anymore." myparkmag |

Pete Burns TV vow Pete Burns has vowed never to watch himself on TV. The Dead of Alive singer - who is the star of a new reality show 'Pete's PA' - has no desire to ever see his own show. Pete told Britain's New magazine: "I didn't see this year's 'Celebrity Big Brother'. I didn't even see the one I was in last year. "Once I've done something, I don't feel the need to watch it back. Same with 'Pete's PA'. No disrespect to the show but I won't watch it." The 48-year-old star - who married boyfriend Michael Simpson in July - also revealed he has no plans to start a family as he can barely look after his domestic appliances. He said: "I don't feel equipped to defrost the fridge, let alone look after a kid! We've got a Persian cat and that's tough enough." But Pete's partner Michael would like to adopt in the future. He said: "I'd love to adopt. Maybe in the future. I've got lots of love to give and if there's a child out there who needs some love, getting it from an ageing gay man is better than from no one. I never understand the policies on adoption that make it so difficult. Love is love, isn't it?" myparkmag |
