STRICTLY HEATHER MCCARTNEY

21/02/2007

HEATHER Mills is joining US show Dancing With The Stars, Jerry Springer announced today.

The former model, who lost her leg in an accident and wears a prosthetic limb, is currently embroiled in a bitter divorce battle with former Beatle, Sir Paul McCartney.

Recently the 38-year-old visited her local police station in Hove, East Sussex to discuss death threats she claims to have received and her sister appealed for the media to leave her alone.

However, blonde Heather seems determined to stay in the spotlight by signing up to the American version of Strictly Come Dancing.

On Good Morning America earlier today, Jerry Springer, who is himself a former contestant, made the announcement and said she may even be a favourite to win because people may feel sorry for her.

“There’s a lot of message in that because it’s to show people whatever challenges they face in life they can dance.

“She might be a sentimental favourite.”

Other stars lined-up for the hit ABC show include Laila Ali, daughter of boxer Muhammad, ex-N Sync singer Joey Fatone and country warbler Billy Ray Cyrus.

Miss USA 2004, Shandi Finnessey, Olympic speed-skater Apolo Anton Ohno and ex-model Paulina Porizkova are among others taking part.

The show starts in the US on March 19.

Mills' Dancing Appearance Upset

The forthcoming appearance by Sir Paul McCartney's estranged wife Heather Mills on US TV show Dancing With The Stars has angered a disabled group in her native Britain, who claim her ability to dance means she is able-bodied.

Mills wears prosthetic limb after losing her left leg below the knee following a 1993 road accident in London.

After the charity campaigner confirmed she would be a contestant on the show next month, the Federation Of Disabled People claim she has no right to use the blue disabled badge on her Mercedes car, which gives users priority parking in public places and in car parks.

The Federation's spokesperson Kathy Gordon said: "Clearly she has mobility so she should refrain from using the badge. It's not fair on other disable people." waveguide

Mills hopes her leg stays on while dancing
Wednesday February 28

Sir Paul McCartney's estranged wife Heather Mills is praying her prosthetic leg stays attached when she struts her stuff on US reality TV show Dancing With The Stars - because she doesn't want audience members to have a heart attack.

The one-legged model-turned-activist is an odd choice to hit the dancefloor for the upcoming series, but she hopes to prove that even amputees can waltz and tango like a professional.

She'll join dancing champ Jonathan Roberts on the new series of the show, which debuts next month, and she's determined to make him proud and keep her false leg firmly strapped in place.

Mills, who lost her leg in a collision with a police motorcycle, tells US news show Extra, "I'm quite happy to be thrown around and hopefully my leg will stay on.

"It's very unlikely my leg is going to fly off, although it would be quite funny. I'll have a strap on, which I wouldn't normally in every day life.

"I don't want to let Jonathan down or give anyone in the audience a heart attack."

And Mills, who is currently in the middle of a bitter divorce battle with McCartney, insists she won't be flashing too much flesh on the dancefloor: "I'm hitting 40, I think I'll keep my tummy covered." yahoo

'Sopranos' tough guy quits 'Dancing'

Thu Mar 1

LOS ANGELES - Vincent Pastore, who played a tough-guy mobster in the early years of "The Sopranos,' has dropped out of "Dancing With the Stars" after a week of training. At least this time he wasn't sent off to sleep with the fishes, the fate that befell his "Sopranos" character.

"I didn't realize just how physically demanding it would be for me. Unable to put forth my best effort, I felt it appropriate to step aside and give someone else the opportunity," Pastore said in a statement Wednesday.

The 60-year-old actor had joined 10 other celebrities for the fourth season of ABC's 10-week dance competition, which returns March 19.

"ABC will be announcing a replacement shortly," said Conrad Green, executive producer of "Dancing With the Stars."

Cheers' Cliff Laces Up Dancing Shoes

Sometimes you want to go where everybody knows your name—or at least the name of the character you played on a show that went off the air 14 years ago.

John Ratzenberger, best known for playing affable mailman Cliff Claven on Cheers, has stepped in to replace Vincent Pastore on Dancing with the Stars after the show's physical demands proved too much for the Sopranos star.

Producers had previously invited the 59-year-old actor to appear on the ABC show earlier this year, but he was unable to commit at the time, due to a scheduling conflict.

Having apparently cleared his calendar since, Ratzenberger joins the series with the added challenge of having only three weeks to hone his dance moves before the premiere, versus the four weeks other competitors had to prepare.

Ratzenberger's professional dance partner will be Edyta Sliwinska, who was partnered with
Joey Lawrence last season and is the only pro to have appeared on all four seasons.

Since his 11-year stint on Cheers came to an end in 1993, Ratzenberger has gone on to become the only actor to voice characters in every Pixar feature film, including Toy Story, Finding Nemo, The Incredibles and Cars.

The actor currently serves as host and producer of the Travel Channel series John Ratzenberger's Made in America. He also recently published a new book, We've Got It Made in America: A Common Man's Salute to An Uncommon Country.

Now, it's time to find out whether he can hold his own on the dance floor against the roster of previously announced contestants: Heather Mills,
Joey Fatone, Ian Ziering, Billy Ray Cyrus, Apollo Anton Ohno, Laila Ali, Clyde Drexler, Leeza Gibbons, Shandi Finnessey and Paulina Porizkova.

Dancing with the Stars returns to ABC with a two-hour premiere on Mar. 19.

The Mills one-step

Heather Mills Reaches For The Sky- Date : 09.03.2007

HEATHER Mill's McCartney unscrews her leg and executes a daring pirouette.

Heather is to star in American TV’s Dancing With Stars.

But her agonists are complaining of favourable treatment.

As the Enquirer reports, some of the other dancers think Heather will get the sympathy vote on account of her leg.

Indeed, it is hard if not impossible to compete against a dancer who has only three limbs to control. If Douglas Bader were around today, he would surely give Heather a run for her money. But he is not.

And Jerry Springer, a former star of the show, tells us: “She may be the sentimental favourite.”

So will Heather get a leg up because of her missing limb? “Will viewers and judges look on her differently?” wonders one insider.

Time will tell.

And we will look on with a sense of awe as Mills, throws her leg over her shoulder – literally... anorak

Dancing Mills hopes show will help other amputees

13/03/2007

Heather Mills is competing on US show Dancing With the Stars to prove that it is possible to do anything with an artificial leg, she said today.

Former Beatle Paul McCartney’s estranged wife, whose left leg was amputated below the knee after a motorbike accident in 1993, has already said she will wear a special strap to stop her prosthetic limb flying off as she twirls around the stage.

Mills told ABC’s Good Morning America she would use her experience on the show - the US version of Strictly Come Dancing - to help people who had lost limbs and were worried about being restricted in the future.

“Every time I go into hospital to a nine-year-old girl who thinks that she’s suddenly not going to ever have a boyfriend, be attractive, get married or dance again, I can say: ’You can do all those things,’ pop the video in and say: ’With the right leg you can glide round the room like this,’” the former model said.

“It changes that person’s life: boy, girl, man, woman.”

She added: “What I want to do is show that you can get out there and do anything with an artificial leg.

“I mean, we’ve got people with two legs missing running the 100 metres in 11.3 seconds.”

She would not discuss her ongoing divorce battle with McCartney and insisted she was not nervous about the dance contest.

“I don’t really get nervous unless I’m going to meet potential mother-in-laws, so that’s not going to be happening,” Mills said.

Her professional partner for the show, Jonathan Roberts, admitted he was surprised when he heard he would be dancing with someone with only one leg.

“I was like, in a bit of shock,” he said.

“Like: 'My goodness, what is she thinking?' That’s actually what went through my mind.”

Dancing With The Stars begins next week in the US. breakingnews

'My Leg Won't Come Off'

Wednesday March 14, 2007

Sir Paul McCartney's estranged wife has hit back at her critics and insisted her artificial leg will not fall off during her looming TV dance contest.

Heather Mills, 39, who is fighting a bitter divorce battle with the ex-Beatle, is set to perform in the US show Dancing With The Stars.

In an interview ahead of the show she talked about the prosthetic limb she will wear during contest - needed following her road accident in 1993.

The former model said: "It won't come off. As much as everyone would love it to go flying, I'm sure it's not going to come off."

She added: "Yes, I've got an artificial leg, yes, I'm going to dance, yes, I'm going to do the best I can, and hopefully it will inspire people."

Mills said Jonathan Roberts, her professional dance partner on the show, initially had misgivings.

"I think when Jonathan first met me it was, 'Oh my god, it's her and she's got one leg'."

But by the fifth or sixth day of practising together, he forgot about her artificial limb, Mills added.

McCartney and Mills wed in 2002 and have a daughter but announced they were separating in May last year.

She has complained against her portrayal in some newspapers as 'a gold digger' - the ex-model is expecting a multi-million pound divorce settlement.

'Gutsy' Heather praised for dance show routine
20/03/2007
Heather Mills won praise from the judges today as she became the first contestant with an artificial leg on US TV show Dancing With The Stars.

The estranged wife of Paul McCartney scored 18 out of 30 for her foxtrot with dance partner Jonathan Roberts – and in the end it was her upper body movement that drew criticism.

Six other couples were ahead of them in the rankings but they left four more trailing in their wake.

Mills, dressed in a flowing sequinned pink and yellow dress with pink elbow-length gloves which she admitted made her feel like an ice-cream sundae, said: “I’m just glad I didn’t fall over. I thought I'd be the lowest so I’m pleased.”

The judges applauded her decision to enter the competition despite only having one leg, and said her biggest problems had been above the waist.

“You’ve got to watch your arms,” choreographer Carrie Ann Inaba told the former model. “When you're worried about your leg and your weight on your leg, your shoulders get really tense.”

Bruno Tonioli told 38-year-old Mills, who was shown taking a tumble during training: “You’ve got more guts than Rambo.”

But he added: “The thing to pick on was actually the top half. Watch your frame, neck to shoulder frame.”

Len Goodman said: “There was far more right about that routine than there was wrong.”

He insisted Mills would be judged by exactly the same standards as the other dancers.

The highest score went to former Nsync star Joey Fatone, who got 24 points for his jokey cha cha cha.

Achy Breaky Heart singer Billy Ray Cyrus fared worst, only managing 13.

Tonioli said he looked like a “crazy bear in a swamp”.

The 11 couples will perform again next Monday and the following night one will be booted off. breakingnews

HEATHER Mills continues to qualify for a disabled parking permit over her and partake in pro-celebrity dancing over there.

Mills is a woman who is all things to all men.

And the Star looks on as she tells American chat show host Jay Leno of her plans.

As is known, Heather is currently starring in Dancing With The Stars, America’s answer to Strictly Come Dancing.

It’s just about the biggest pro-celebrity dance shows on the box right now, and Heather plans to give it her full attention.

As she tells Leno: “I’ve bet a few hundred dollars it’s not going to come off – so I’ll win some money.”

Heather is not referring to her dress, nor her bra and knickers. Some shock to fans of Heather’s past work, notably Die Freuden Der Liebe, a study in Anglo-German relations and baby oil. But, as we say, Heather is all things to all men. She’s talking of her prosthetic leg.

Heather goes on: “Most of the nation was watching to see if my leg would fly off. That’s why I’ve got this strap on it.”

At which point, we were back in the old days as Heather lifted up her leg to give publishers and adolescent boys a hint of what might have occurred in mills-leg.jpg Zwei. anorak
