60 SECONDS: Jodie Marsh

Jodie Marsh became a tabloid favourite when she started wearing belts over her boobs at London clubs. She went on to appear in TV shows Club Reps and Celebrity Big Brother. Her latest project, Totally Jodie Marsh: Who Will Take Her Up The Aisle?, sees Jodie trying to find a man to marry for a pre-booked wedding in September. It starts on Sunday at 10pm on MTV.

How’s the manhunt going?

I’ll be honest, at this stage things are going s***. There is a lack of genuine men. It’s true when they say the best ones are married or gay. I hate men right now. I’m stressed. I’m a woman on the edge.

You want a fetish wedding. Have you bought the gear?
The wedding’s booked but I don’t want to give the details away. This is a real wedding and it’s going to be a real marriage, so I’m having what I want on the day. However, it’s not going to be a normal wedding.

Fewer men turned up at the auditions than were expected. Were you disappointed?
No. It’s not like The X Factor. Lots of people want to be famous for singing, not many want to be famous for marrying someone famous. It took us all day to get through the 20 people who turned up. We spent 45 minutes with some of them. In Cardiff we had a couple of guys who’d flown from Cork to meet me, so you have to give them time. It was so draining I couldn’t have coped with any more. We’ve moved on to speed and Internet dating now.

If one of our readers wanted to apply to be your husband what qualities would he need?
I don’t want a celebrity boyfriend. I just want a nice, normal guy who can offer me a lifetime of happiness. Someone who isn’t in it for a laugh, who isn’t after fame, who just wants to share my life with me and love me for who I am. Someone who isn’t interested in the image the press portray of me.

What are the most common misconceptions about you?

true ever been printed?’ – apart from what I’ve written in my autobiography. They make out that I’m partying and drinking all the time but actually, when I do drink, I only need two vodkas and I’m on my back. I’m a lightweight. I’m into bungee jumping, skydiving and riding motorbikes but that never gets written about. All you ever get to hear about is the partying and skimpy outfits.

I want to get married this year, I don’t want to be a haggard old bride walking down the aisle at 45

Are you worried that MTV will make you look ridiculous in this programme?
I don’t trust anyone in TV after I was on Big Brother. I thought they’d show me as I am – a nice, caring person, a successful businesswoman, a confident, opinionated person, all mixed with a bit of insane behaviour. They didn’t, so I’m wary of being filmed and edited but if I want a career in this industry I have to get on with it. I don’t want to give the job up because I enjoy it. I could just buy a bar abroad anonymously but I’d probably get hunted down and they’d still print pictures of me. I can’t win. I may as well keep doing it and take the money.

The programme is being broadcast as you’re filming. If you don’t like the first episodes it’s too late, isn’t it?[/color]
Yes, take the scene in the first programme, with my family. It made it look as if they aren’t supportive of what I’m doing but they are. Of course, my parents want me to meet a nice man and settle down and have babies. I’m daddy’s little princess and mummy’s little baby. I want to get married this year, I don’t want to be a haggard old bride walking down the aisle at 45. I

You call a journalist a ‘fat lesbian’ in the first show and say you wanted to punch her. Have you been more careful since?

I’m just being myself. The woman really gave me a grilling but they can’t show the whole interview. They just showed my abuse towards her, saying that she’s jealous and not as goodlooking as me – which I think is true.

There are websites dedicated to slagging you off, do you read them?
No. It’s the same as magazines and the radio. The last time I had the radio on I was having a cup of tea with my mum and some d***head DJ started saying: ‘Jodie Marsh is an old trollop.’ I turned it off and haven’t had it on since. If something negative is being said, I ignore it because it just depresses me.

Jodie in spat with music journalist

The model, who is about to launch a new MTV show in which she seeks to find a future husband, was caught off camera labelling BBC Radio 1

Celebrity Big Brother star Jodie Marsh has found herself at the centre of a spat after she launched an off camera tirade against a music journalist.

The model, who is about to launch a new MTV show in which she seeks to find a future husband, was caught off camera labelling BBC Radio 1 reporter Jody Thompson a 'lesbian'.

During the footage, the Celebrity Big Brother star also talks about 'how she wanted to punch' the reporter 'in the face'.

Speaking about the incident Thompson said: "I was actually shocked and quite upset. It was very personal and I had no chance to defend myself which is classic bullying tactics.

"I did also think using the term lesbian as being derogatory was just awful as well."

JODIE'S A SILLY FAKER
EXCLUSIVE Her face when we say her TV reality marriage show is nothing but a sham
By Lara Gould Tv Reporter Lara.Gould 09/09/2007

This is the moment glamour girl Jodie Marsh is confronted over claims she faked her TV search for a husband.

The Essex-girl star said she was single in May at the start of MTV "reality" show Totally Jodie Marsh: Who'll Take Her Up The Aisle.

But tonight viewers will see Jodie, 26, who was paid around £100,000, forced to face claims she was already engaged to the man she picked to be her hubby at the end of the show.

MTV sources believe Jodie and Matt Peacock have been dating since February - three months before auditions started.

In a highly-charged showdown - shown on MTV tonight - the Sunday Mirror confronted Jodie with claims she had misled viewers, TV bosses and fans who took part in the show believing they had a chance to marry her. The couple are accused of plotting to continue with the show to pay for a showbiz wedding.

Their story unravelled when MTV bosses uncovered footage of model Matt bragging about their relationship... before his audition in May.

Matt, 24, who spent the night before his audition in the former lapdancer's hotel room, can be heard boasting to a researcher: "What we're going to do is... be like we just know each other. It's all sorted out already."

The couple were shown the footage in a meeting with MTV bosses, filmed on hidden cameras. When the producers leave the room to consider the future of the show, Jodie is seen whispering to her fiance: "F*** you." He replies: "Why are you having a go at me? You are the one who lied."

Jodie's assistant is also caught on camera - without realising his microphone is plugged in - telling a colleague: "She planned to marry him before the show even started.

The minute he proposed she should have pulled out of it and she didn't because this was all about getting what they could for free."

Jodie married Matt two weeks ago in a £60,000 ceremony - paid for by sponsors who believed the wedding was part of Jodie's genuine search for a husband.

The bride walked down the aisle in a £20,000 gown and the couple swapped gold rings worth £12,500. They have since raked in £14,000 for selling their big day to glossy mags.

Asked by the Sunday Mirror if she would be paying it back, Jodie said: "I haven't misled anybody. I was single when I started the programme. The evidence from Matt is not evidence at all. It's just male bravado. I told Matt he had to audition like that if he wanted to be with me."

Last night an MTV spokeswoman said: "Throughout filming we have repeatedly asked Jodie to clarify her relationship with Matt and the recent revelations were unexpected."
