Hell's Kitchen-ITV1 Monday 03 September
9:00pm - 10:30pm 1/15

The original enfant terrible of British haute cuisine, Marco Pierre White, is taking charge of Hell's Kitchen, attempting to turn two teams of celebrities into fully fl edged chefs. Long before the recent crop of expletive-splattered celebrity chefs, Marco's temper was legend. He's had white-hot rows with restaurant critics, customers, his one-time protégé Gordon Ramsay and staff. So we're prepared for haranguing over the hobs and swearing at the sink. Yet in Hell's Kitchen, the man some describe as the Godfather of British cooking says he plans to "inspire people and help them, not belittle them and put them down".

SWELL'S KITCHEN
EXCLUSIVE Chips are down for celebrity TV cooks She's Adelicious

SHE's tender, saucy and very, very tasty.. On this form soap babe Adele Silva will be top dish on the menu when she enters Hell's Kitchen tomorrow night.

Stew-pendous Adele, 26, who plays racy Kelly Windsor in Emmerdale, is pictured frolicking in the sea during a sunshine break at the Lindner Golf and Spa hotel in Majorca.

She wanted to be sure she was looking a rare treat before doing battle in the ITV1 celebrity cooking show.

Master chef Marco Pierre White has promised to turn the heat up on the novice contestants.

But we reckon he'll find Adele is hot stuff already. She's been peeled, nicely browned on both sides - and definitely looks good enough to eat.

White turns up Hell's Kitchen heat

Explosions and fireworks are on the menu as another 10 celebrities tackle the flames in Hell's Kitchen.

Sparks are set to fly as chef Marco Pierre White - once described as the Godfather of British cooking - has promised to take no prisoners in the ITV reality show.

White, whose legendary temper has resulted in him throwing irritating staff into the bin and dumping customers out on the street, said the aspiring chefs would not be given an easy ride as he put them through their culinary paces.

"Let's not forget, they might be a celebrity outside the kitchen but the minute they walk into the kitchen they are not a celebrity. I am not there to be their friend. They have chosen to put two weeks of their lives into my hands," the chef said.

The man who allegedly reduced Gordon Ramsey to tears also insisted: "What I'll be looking for is talent. I want to see tears, I want to hear laughter, I want to see people fight and I want to see people learn."

But his approach could at odds with the stronger personalities among his celebrity students.

Former Blue singer Lee Ryan said he may be one of the troublemakers on the show.

"I'm definitely a joker in a team," the 24-year-old confirmed. "I'll have fun. He [Marco] might not stand for any food fights but I might chuck a few peas around or someone might get a mangetout in the head when they're not looking."

White will have two weeks to train the group of amateurs into professional chefs who can serve mouth-watering dishes to a restaurant of discerning celebrity diners.

Participants include self-confessed bad cook and actress Adele Silva - best known for playing Kelly Windsor in Emmerdale - who admits to being unable to boil an egg and model Abigail Clancy whose roast dinners involve ready-made roast potatoes.

Among the other hopefuls coming to White's table are:
actress Kelly LeBrock
newspaper editor Rosie Boycott
TV presenter Anneka Rice
singer Paul Young
comedian Jim Davidson
TV presenter Brian Dowling.

Hell's Kitchen line-up revealed

Emmerdale star Adele Silva and WAG Abbey Clancy are among those who will be working for chef Marco Pierre White in the new series of Hell's Kitchen.

The latest series of the show, which previously featured Gordon Ramsay, begins on ITV1 on Monday - and White has promised that he won't be making any allowances for his celebrity chefs.

"At the beginning I'll tell the contestants the number one rule is that I'm the boss and what I say goes," he told the Sunday Mirror.

"They might be celebrities outside the kitchen but the minute they walk into the kitchen they are not a celebrity. I don't care who they are. I have a job to do.

Among the others taking part in the show are former TV presenter Anneka Rice Hollywood actress Kelly LeBrock and former journalist Rosie Boycott.

The men are represented by comedian Jim Davidson, ex-boxer Barry McGuigan, former Blue singer Lee Ryan, Big Brother 2 winner Brian Dowling and 80s chart-topper Paul Young.

"I'm more worried about my fake tan running in the heat than Marco," Dowling admitted. "When I sweat I panic. And when I panic I sweat." whatsontv

Brian Dowling

“I don’t cook really ever. I go and buy stuff and bung it in the oven. I love ready meals and my diet is atrocious.
"On a normal day I don’t have breakfast, I might open a tin of tuna and have a sandwich for lunch and then dinner will be pasta.
"Being Irish I love potatoes as well – mashed, boiled, baked, roast. And I love tomato ketchup on everything.”

Would you ever consider doing Hell's Kitchen, Cameron or any other reality show? I think this one is quite a good one to appear on or the Ice Skating one.

I would maybe have done Hell's Kitchen - I wouldn't do the skating. Although I love skating, I'm too scared my fingers would get chopped off. Irrational I know. The one I'd like to do is the dancing one.

I know what you mean about the skating one. I always think that to when I am skating. What if I fall and someone skates over my hands? lol

I forgot about the dancing one. That would be a good one to do as well. I think these three are the only ones with any real credibility these days, though I do wish they would bring back Survivor.

Eggs-hell's kitchen

Chef Marco Pierre White laid into the Hell's Kitchen celebs over their feeble attempts to cook a simple egg dish.

He met them at the weekend and split the contestants into boys and girls' teams.

All had 10 minutes to make a simple egg item. TV host Brian Dowling's rubbery omelette came in for most abuse, with Marco using it as a dishcloth and joking: "Is this a pancake?"

He turned the fried eggs made by Abbey Clancy, girlfriend of Liverpool star Peter Crouch, upside down and said: "It's best to hide certain things."

Journalist Rosie Boycott's scrambled eggs were "half undercooked, half overcooked".

Emmerdale star Adele Silva decorated her scrambled eggs with sprinklings of pepper.

He said: "So it's all about presentation, not flavour?" and made her eat them, despite her complaints about calories.

HELL'S Kitchen is back with the genuinely scary Marco Pierre White overseeing the culinary efforts of 10 largely clueless celebs.

Since Marco makes Gordon look a teddy bear (Ramsay once broke down in tears when he worked for him), you can safely assume he won't be taking any crap.

"The number one rule is I'm the boss," he insists. "What I say goes. They might be celebrities outside the kitchen, but the minute they walk into the kitchen they're not. I'm not there to be their friend."

They show runs nightly for a fortnight, with Angus Deayton hosting once again. Dailystar

Loved this tonight, thought it was really funny. I've never watched it before, so I'm not comparing it to when Gordon Ramsey did it.

The funniest moment for me was when Jim Davidson said ina little clip before the break that 'everything he had ever did he failed at' and Mr ellie burst out laughing and said "you're not joking, but then you never could". Then after the break we saw it again but with Jim adding "except comedy" onto his original comment. Oh what larks! We did laugh.

Still I enjoyed it but was disappointed at the end to find out it's on every bloody night. After devoting (wasting) so much of my summer on nightly BB shows, I am not sure if I am prepared to waste every night for the next fortnight on Hell's Kitchen. I thought it was a once a week job.
