ABBEY TO WED ENGLAND STAR

HELL’S Kitchen dish Abbey Clancy is set to tie the knot with footie ace Peter Crouch.

Pals say the England striker got down on one knee after the blonde got the boot from the ITV1 show.

And last night Abbey’s dad confirmed the happy news – by giving lanky goalscorer Peter, 26, his blessing.

Geoff Clancy said: “I’ve met him several times and he’s a nice boy, a smashing lad. Of course he’s got my blessing.”

Earlier this year model Abbey, 21, hinted that she and the Liverpool hotshot might one day walk down the aisle.

The Scouse beauty said she was “incredibly happy” with the 6ft 7in giant and that “all good things come to those who wait”.

And pals now say the big day could be just months away following Peter’s proposal.

One pal of Abbey said they had both found it “unbearable” to be apart while she honed her cooking skills in Marco Pierre White’s kitchen.

She worked 17-hour days for two weeks but Peter managed to pop in early on to see her in action and is said to have “missed her something chronic”.

Abbey’s friend said: “It was really hard for both of them while she was on the show. She was working really hard and obviously Peter was either training or playing most of the time, so they hardly saw each other.

“As soon as she left it was a massive relief, in a way. They promised each other they’d do whatever they could to make sure they’re never apart for too long again.

“Peter said he wanted to marry Abbey and that’s exactly what she wants.

“I think they’ll be walking down the aisle some time next year.”

Dad Geoff, who is divorced from Abbey’s mum Karen, said that he would be “extremely happy” when they do tie the knot.

The pair, who have dated for just under two years, met in a Liverpool bar.

But just weeks into their relationship they were stung by allegations Abbey had taken cocaine.

The babe, who was with Peter in Germany for last year’s World Cup at the time, flew home to confront the claims.

But there were further allegations that she bedded an ex-lover behind the England ace’s back. Crouch’s legal team also sent out letters to newspapers saying he was no longer with Abbey.

Within days they were back together and pals say they’re now “rock solid”.

Meanwhile, it seems there will also be wedding bells for Abbey’s fellow Hell’s Kitchen evictee Jim Davidson, 53.

The comic is said to have proposed to lover Michelle Cotton, who lives with him in Dubai – despite a 20-year age gap.

The finalists' special treat
Our stunned finalists get time to reflect with their families.

“I am so grateful the public have voted me in,” Barry sighed, having survived last night’s sacking. “I must be doing something right.“

“People ask me, ‘Are you pleased?’” Adele beamed. “I am just like a nodding dog!”

And Marco was equally chuffed with the chefs stood before him. “You are both winners,” he told them. “You’ve kept your heads down and you both deserve to be here.”

So with the service over and the live final looming, our chefs were treated to a few minutes with their families out in the restaurant.

Barry went to see his sister and her children, who told him what a tip top job he was doing.

And Adele’s mum blushed as her daughter revealed that she told her not to do the show on account of her terrible cooking!

“Are you eating your words now?!” Adele giggled, as her mum turned bright pink.

But which one of our finalists will go all the way to the top spot? Tune in tonight at 9pm for the live final build-up.

TOO MUCH WHINE, BRIAN

Great ways to start a TV show.

Cue the announcer: "With offensive language and scenes of animal slaughter, Jim's beating a hasty retreat."

Yep, it's another helping of the increasingly odd Hell's Kitchen.

Barry McGuigan and Adele Silva: Hell's Kitchen Finalists

Paul Young and Brian Dowling are sacked by the public vote, leaving finalists Barry McGuigan and Adele Silva to battle it out in Hell.

After a tense service as one kitchen unit, our four remaining celeb chefs filed out of the kitchen to be fed their fate by Angus.

EXCLUSIVE: ABBEY lifts the lid on HELL'S KITCHEN

Hell's Kitchen beauty Abigail Clancy's first night of passion since her shock eviction was ruined... by nightmares about pots and pans.

The blonde model was desperate for a steamy reunion with lanky soccer-star lover Peter Crouch after her exit from the ITV show on Wednesday.

But Abbey was kept up all night thinking about steamy kitchens instead.

We had a Net failure last night.

Yeah, I know - you're fascinated to read that.

Only saw some of the show last night, and was miffed that with no Net access I couldn't post on here.

I imagined Ellie celebrating the fact that Adele had made it to the final, and Hippo celebrating the fact that Brian hadn't.

Forgot that John had booked a table for them in HK - guess they're making a weekend of it. :x

Loved the bit of the show I did see, though.

Have now taken to evangelising - saying to elder daughter "come, look at Marco, he's a bit of an animal, but there's something about him" ::lol::, and boring anyone who'll pretend to listen, by telling them how funny Angus Deayton's comments are.

It's funny, it's fast-paced, and it still manages to have a fair bit of 'feel-good' factor.

Marco for canonisation, I think.

And I laughed out loud more during the 20 mins I saw last night, than I did in the entire 13 weeks of BB. - which is a bit of a pity, because although BB has let me down in recent years, it's almost part of our culture now.

Actually, last night, elder daughter was saying we should all apply to BB - I told her that a tabloid had 'reported' that Endemol were looking for a layabout Dad (well, husband is NOT that, but he'd do), a mad mother (say no more), and a troublesome teen. Daughter said "well, we've got one to spare here". She also suggested we throw in the fun-loving 'drunken' granny (I should like to point out that my 83-year-old mother-in-law is a fantastic woman, great fun, and it's not her fault if after two glasses of red she's on her ear), and the ....well I won't say what she said about my father, but think Victor Meldrew in a very bad mood. When we thought about other eccentric relatives, we reckoned we had a winning formula.

Apologies, this is supposed to be about Hell's Kitchen, and I'm waffling on about some obscure show called BB.

But at least I posted in this thread!

Hope anyone who watches the final tonight really enjoys it.

BEAUTY V BEAST

THE beauty and the beast go head to head tonight as Barry McGuigan and Adele Silva fight to be crowned winner of Hell’s Kitchen.

Former boxing world champion Barry, 46, is the hot favourite, but actress Adele, 26, is being backed by chef Marco Pierre White, 45.

Both amateur chefs were thrilled to reach the final, beating competition from Big Brother 2 winner Brian Dowling, 29, and 80s singer Paul Young, 51.

Barry said: “I am so grateful the public has voted me in. I must be doing something right.”

And Emmerdale babe Adele said: “People ask me if I’m pleased, and I am just like a nodding dog.”

Meanwhile, Brian and Paul made a return to the kitchen yesterday to act as assistants after getting the boot on Saturday night.

Popular Irishman Barry was an early shot to win and impressed with the way he tried to calm the rows between Jim Davidson, 53, and Brian. He also got obsessed with creating the perfect mashed potato – though spoilt the effect by constantly dolloping it onto the wrong place on the plate.

Barry was also hampered when he burned his finger early on in the show’s run but solidered on.

He said: “My objective was to be a decent cook by the end of it and I just hoped I could stay in long enough.

“I want to be able to feed my family and they all can have a day off.” Chirpy Adele admitted she could not even boil an egg before her stint in Hell’s Kitchen – but was hoping some new culinary skills might help her bag a husband.

She giggled: “I decided to make a tuna nicoise salad and kept joking that I couldn’t boil an egg, and I actually couldn’t.
“I’m learning to cook to be a perfect wife in years to come.”

The sexy actress was also keen to show Britain she was nothing like her bitchy character Kelly Windsor and proved her point with her cheerfulness and eagerness to learn.

She said: “My character in Emmerdale is a bit of a bitch, a bit of a gold-digger, not very girly and quite hard – I am the complete opposite.”

Adele, who loves getting stuck into the gory bits of cooking, enjoyed flirting with Marco.

She said: “I have respect for Marco. But I worked as hard as I could and I’m happy to end up one of his star pupils.”

*Hell’s Kitchen final, tonight, ITV1 at 9pm.

Hell's Belle
EXCLUSIVE: Adele could make it as a chef says Marco

Marco Pierre White is convinced Emmerdale star Adele Silva could run her own restaurant after her stint on Hell's Kitchen.

The fiery chef was full of praise for the actress as she went head to head against former boxing champ Barry McGuigan in the final to be shown tonight.

Marco said: "Adele has been fantastic. If she wasn't an actress she could definitely become a chef full-time."

He also broke into a rare smile when he was asked if he had enjoyed working on the ITV series, watched by four million in its final stages.

Marco, 45, said: "I have enjoyed it actually, because this is my environment. It is what I know and it has been great teaching people new skills.

"I am pleased the right people are in the final. They have worked the hardest."

Barry, 46, said: "I am so grateful the public voted me in. I must be doing something right."

And Adele, 26 - who is taking a break from the soap - is equally delighted to have made the final. She said: "People ask me, 'Are you pleased?' and I am just like a nodding dog."

The Mirror asked Marco to give his verdicts on the two celebs in the last round...

What has been your overall impression of them?

Adele: She has been fantastic and I think it helps that she is very artistic in the kitchen. None of the other contestants were. From day one she has been very focused on what she has been doing.

Barry: While others have been laughing and joking, he is the one doing his best and quietly working away in the background. The viewers have seen that, which is why he is in the final.

How have they improved?

Adele: She has learned a lot of skills. She is very competent with a knife now, for example.

Barry: He has been a good listener and his overall cooking has improved.

Could the finalists cook in a proper restaurant?

Adele: I would say she could definitely become a fulltime chef. She is very organised in her preparation.

Barry: He would be a great person to have in there but I think he would struggle in a real kitchen. He doesn't like to leave his comfort zone.

What single piece of advice should they take away?

Marco said: "Not to forget what they were taught. Some of the contestants won't realise, but hopefully it will change how they cook for the rest of their lives."

The final of Hell's Kitchen is on ITV1 tonight at 9pm.

Emily Bell

The Guardian

The new series of Hell's Kitchen has been a nugget of televisual genius, where ITV has given an object lesson in how to revive a jaded franchise with fresh talent (and goodness knows this is a skill they need to be honing). Marco Pierre White might be just the man to use his new sensitive manner to preside over the review of the contracts rights renewal negotiations, although his unfortunate use of the phrase "pikey's picnic" might mean that he should first go on a re-education course.

Brian Dowling, from Big Brother 2, who was unsure of exactly who or what Shakespeare might be, certainly has a role in defining what public service broadcasting means in the 21st century . . . if someone has managed to get to 29 without knowing who or what the Bard is, even in the broadest terms, then one has to raise questions over what exactly the BBC is doing with £2bn a year.

Not quite sure Brian Dowling was thought of as the BB bod who was so thick; it was a later BB housemate who didn't know who Shakespeare was.
Oh yeah, that was the still under suspicion Brian Belo from BB8 - but that is Brian's(BB8's) problem. :D

McGuigan crowned a knock-out chef

Former world boxing champion Barry McGuigan was crowned head chef of ITV's culinary reality show Hell's Kitchen.

The 46-year-old television boxing expert beat off competition from 10 other celebrities in the public vote.

McGuigan was named ahead of 26-year-old Emmerdale actress Adele Silva after two weeks of competition.

Chef Marco Pierre White spent the last fortnight attempting to train the group of 10 celebrity amateurs into professional chefs able to serve dishes to a restaurant full of discerning diners.

The celebrities - separated into a red and a blue team - battled it out live every night to try to become the winning chef.

McGuigan grinned and hugged Silva as presenter Angus Deayton told him of his victory last night.

And he paid tribute to White, describing him as "an exceptional man".

"I've had a fabulous time, we all have. It's been a fabulous journey," he said.

Silva, best known for playing Kelly Windsor in Emmerdale, took second place after beginning the show admitting she was unable to boil an egg.

Earlier, McGuigan and Silva undertook a taste test and cooked lunch for television presenter Piers Morgan and restaurant critic Giles Coren.

White, whose legendary temper has resulted in him throwing irritating customers out on the street, told the two contestants: "Congratulations, well done. You've both come through with your reputations intact which I think is important."

Other contestants included model Abigail Clancy, actress Kelly LeBrock, former newspaper editor Rosie Boycott, TV presenter Anneka Rice, singer Paul Young, comedian Jim Davidson and TV presenter Brian Dowling.

In series one, actress and singer Jennifer Ellison was crowned the winning chef after creating a signature dish of burger with chunky chips under the guidance of Gordon Ramsay.

In the second series, under the guidance of Gary Rhodes, 10 members of the public stepped up to the challenge.
