QUEENSLAND'S Attorney-General Kerry Shine has raised concerns about the voting methods on reality television shows like Australian Idol.
In state parliament today, Mr Shine said there should be a way to vote for free, rather than having to pay for an SMS or phone call.
He suggested a free online vote to make sure people who can't afford to vote aren't excluded.
"While these programs target the key 18 to 35 years demographic because of their high disposable income, I am concerned that many of those viewers who are voting are teenagers who may not be able to afford the associated costs,'' Mr Shine said.
