Talent and reality TV shows such as the X Factor and Big Brother were slated by a top Midland headteacher for giving children false aspirations. Andree Keddle, head of Abbey Hulton Primary School in Stoke-on-Trent, spoke out after her school was named one of the top nationally for improving the performance of pupils. Ms Keddle said the school's success was down to hard work and commitment from children, teachers and parents. But she maintained TV talent programmes presented pupils with an illusion of a short-cut to fame and riches without the need for education and learning solid skills. BirminghamPost |
