The new German show returns on the 13th Presented by Katarina Witt and Oliver Petszokat. The judges will be Kati Winkler, Reinhard Mirmseker and Daniel Weiss... On the Astra satellites at 19E (Not Sky Digital at 28E) on Channel is Pro7 - Prosieben of which there are 4 variations free. There used to be an Analogue version as well as the 4 Digital ones but I haven't an Analogue receiver to hand to check. It will be shown every Thursday at 8:15pm (CET ?). German title is "Stars auf Eis". The "celebs" this year will be... * Christina Surer (race driver) * Patrick Nuo (singer) * Patrick Bach (actor) * Yvonne Schröder (candidate of 'Germany’s Next Topmodel') * Verene Kerth (girlfriend of Oliver Kahn/german goal keeper) * Jana Ina Zarella (Model) * Frank Matthée (Weddingplaner) * Bürger Lars Dietrich (musician) * Boris Entrup (Make-Up Artist at Germany’s Next Topmodel) * Susanne Pätzold (of the comedy show 'Switch Reloaded') Could be worth a watch even though you won't understand what the judges are saying. |

Well after catching the end of tonight's show ,our celebrity skaters look like pros compared to the German celebrities ! The last one looked so unstable that he appeared not to have had much experience on ice. Even Foxy on UK DOI 2007 was much better. Our skaters get 3 - 4 months intensive training before the first show but these don't look as if they've received much. And the routines can't be more than 1 - 1.5 minutes. Think ours were more like 2.5 - 3 minutes. I think the required element might have been a step sequence turning backwards from forwards and back to forwards in a dance looking sequence which I'm amazed the last chap pulled off . The marking I think is on technical difficulty and artistic merit and they are in 0.1 steps and not 0.5 steps like the UK show. The public voting is interesting. The results from the main show gives the skaters a rating from 10 down to 1 and the public vote results and a rating again from 1 to 10 being added to the other rating and the one with the lowest overall rating score leaves the show. There's no skate-off. |

During this weeks show one of the contestants fell while skating backwards landing with one foot under him. He is now in a Berlin Hospital and won't be able to take any further part in the show. The details from fsvids.net - "...Bürger Lars Dietrich broke his fibula and also got a torn ligament". The routine (Note proving difficult to access right now) Afterwards Part1. Part 2. Part 3. Note these all download links ,though will let you play them rather than having to download them first. Just shows how dangerous it can be. |

Having finally downloaded Lars' routine it's amazing what adrenaline can do. He completed the routine unaware that anything was wrong and the interview directly afterwards. But by the time he got backstage he was limping and in pain. |
