Up, up and away: Flying Dancing on Ice favourite Chris Fountain shrugs off judge's attack

The three remaining Dancing on Ice contestants were putting themselves through their final paces tonight ahead of Sunday's finale as controversy erupted over hot favourite Chris Fountain's "unfair advantage".

Fountain has been attacked by judge Jason Gardiner who told the Hollyoaks actor he had an advantage over his rivals because he has years of skating experience after playing ice hockey.

Get ready for the finale of ITV's Dancing on Ice!
By Beth Neil Beth.Neil@Mirror.Co.Uk

There's been tears, tantrums and Tumbles... but now TV's glitziest series is about to reach its spine-chilling climax.

Tomorrow night Dancing On Ice takes to the rink for the last time this year in what promises to be the most competitive final ever.

Hollyoaks star Chris Fountain might be the bookies' favourite but singer Suzanne Shaw and former Corrie actress Zaraah Abrahams are snapping at his blades, both desperate to stop him skating away with the title.

Here's me catching up with all three finalists ahead of the most nerve-jangling night of their careers to ask them some cold, hard questions...

Suzanne Shaw, 26

Who on the show has melted your heart?

My skating partner Matt Evers. I love him to pieces, he's adorable. He's helped me through so much. I've made a friend for life in him.

Which moment of the series so far gave you the shivers?

The headbanger. I didn't realise just how close my head came to smashing off the ice and I didn't want to know either. It was amazing when we finally pulled the move off - but I found it very difficult to watch afterwards.

Which outfit got the frostiest reception?

I wasn't a fan of my Fame costume. It was bright orange and pink and I looked really 80s. I'm not too fond of that decade's fashion!

Who will you cold-shoulder after the series has finished?

It sounds cheesy but I love everyone. There's a big family atmosphere and there's isn't one person I don't want to keep in touch with. I'm very pally with Kristina and Frankie, the pros.

When did you think you were skating on thin ice?

Props week. I'd chipped my ankle and it was a painful time. I couldn't believe I escaped the skate-off. I'd prepared myself to be in the bottom two.

What has been your icing on the cake moment?

Knocking Chris off the top spot. I don't think anyone expected to get ahead of him on the leaderboard. He saw me straight after and said: "Boooooo!"

Do Holly's outfits leave you cold? Or is she an Ice, Ice Baby?

I love them! She's got a great figure and the most amazing curves. Holly is a great example to women that you don't have to be stick-thin to be gorgeous. There's nothing wrong with a bit of boob!

How do you chill out?

I curl up in front of 24. And I get lots of cuddles from my son Corey and my boyfriend DJ Jason 'JK' King.

Which celeb would you secretly like to break the ice with?

Matthew Fox from Lost. He's sexy and gorgeous.

I can't believe I managed to escape the skate off

Chris Fountain, 20

Who on the show has melted your heart?

Karen Barber. She's been dead nice and supportive from day one. She always has something good to say. Everyone loves her.

Which moment gave you the shivers?

The day I tried to do the axel. I couldn't land it. I managed it on the night - it wasn't the best one I'd done but it was an amazing feeling to land on my feet and not my bum.

Which outfit got the frostiest reception?

I've liked all my outfits. I haven't had a problem with what they've put me in. But I'd draw the line at a pink crop top!

Who will you cold-shoulder after the series is finished?

Jason, after what he has said about me having an unfair advantage. I've never hidden my ice hockey background. He's always having a go at someone and I'm bored of it now.

When did you think you were skating on thin ice?

The 60s week. I was convinced I was going to drop Frankie on her head. I thought we'd be in the skate-off.

What has been your icing on the cake moment?

Doing the spin during Cry Me A River. It took me about three months to master it!

Do Holly's outfits leave you cold? Or is she an Ice, Ice Baby?

She always looks great! I don't know what all the fuss is about. Holly's boobs have become national treasures and rightly so.

How do you chill out?

I sleep! I haven't had a chance to do anything else!

Which celebrity would you secretly like to break the ice with?

Hayden Panettiere from Heroes. She's gorgeous.

Jason's always having a go. I'm bored of it

Zaraah Abrahams, 25

Who on the show has melted your heart?

My pro partner Fred Palascak. He's wonderful - so supportive and a really good laugh. We have a great time together and get lost having in-depth conversations!

Which moment gave you the shivers?

Having to do the routine jump. I knew it was going to be a disaster. If it hadn't been for Fred de-stressing me, I couldn't have got through it.

Which outfit got the frostiest reception?

The Locomotion trouser suit. It was good for the 60s theme but that was my first week in the skate-off so it doesn't hold many good memories for me. My favourite was my semi-final pink number. It was beautiful.

Who will you cold shoulder after the series has finished?

The camera guys - too many close-ups of my backside! No, honestly, everyone's been great. Even Jason has been really sweet to me all the way through.

When did you think you were skating on thin ice?

Last week without a doubt. I didn't think Gareth would go. I knew if I fell that would be it as we were both so close in ability. It was anyone's game in the semi-final skate-off and that was scary.

What has been your icing on the cake moment?

Getting through to the final. I never expected to get this far and I'm just so excited to have such an amazing opportunity. I can't wait!

Do Holly's outfits leave you cold? Or is she an Ice, Ice Baby?

Holly is absolutely gorgeous and glam. She fits the show perfectly. Her figure is unbelievable and her dresses are fab. She'd get hammered if she dressed like a dowdy cow.

How do you chill out?

I collapse on my couch and watch all the programmes I've Skyplussed, like America's Next Top Model. Then I'll pluck out my boyfriend's ingrowing hairs. Seriously!

Which celebrity would you secretly like to break the ice with?

Hugh Laurie. I don't know what it is but there's definitely something about him.

I never expected to get this far. I can't wait

JASON'S FINAL VERDICT

It's almost too close to call. I think it's between Chris and Suzanne. I just hope the viewers don't turn this into a popularity contest and really think about how far each contestant has come. This is the strongest final we've ever had.
