Will Todd Trigger First £1 Million Payout!

Bookies William Hill have had their busiest ever week with double the usual turnover for Dancing On Ice. Melinda Messenger is a big favourite at 7/4 to be evicted this week but there is a fair amount of shrewd money for Donal to go. Ray Quinn remains the 1/2 favourite but Todd Carty is by far the biggest loser for William Hill with the industry in for a comedy £100,000 payout if he goes on to win.

ROXY IS D-ICING WITH DANGER

MEDICS will be on standby in case Roxanne Pallett’s attempt at the notoriously dangerous “headbanger” on tonight’s Dancing On Ice goes wrong.

And things have got so nervy for the babe that she fell out of bed and bumped her head on Friday after dreaming about performing the move.

Todd Carty waves goodbye as he is FINALLY kicked off Dancing On Ice

Todd Carty's run of luck on Dancing On Ice has finally come to an end after he was given the boot.

The hapless star, dubbed the John Sergeant of the show, was voted in the bottom two with former rugby player Ellery Hanley following the viewer vote and was then eliminated after four of the five judges chose to save Hanley.

He was hoping to make a first and hit double figures for his performance, but failed after receiving just 8.5 out of 30 for his routine to Nat King Cole's Smile.

Dancing On Ice: week five!

The fifth week of Dancing on Ice 2009 has seen yet another triumph for series favourite Ray Quinn - with his highest score yet from the judges.

The former X Factor finalist scored a whopping 26.5 points out of a possible 30 for his lively routine to Jamiroquai's Canned Heat - and received some hefty words of praise from the panel in the process.

"Dancing is what you do on ice," Jason Gardiner told him. "That was brilliant, I forgot you were on ice, it was mesmerising. I loved it."

Todd Carty finally finds himself on thin ice

Phillip Schofield's voice was thick with emotion. “We lose Todd Carty,” the silver-haired presenter cried. To which a nation in its living-room called back, aghast: “Not the Toddster.” Or, possibly, “About time too,” depending how you felt about pro-celebrity ice dance and the purity of the sporting contest that is ITV's Dancing on Ice.

Either way, people are now asking: “Will we ever see anyone quite as bad at ice skating again?” And people are answering: “No. Not during prime time, anyway.”

Torvill and Dean have been skating for 40 years; Valentine's Day will mark the 25th anniversary of their Olympic triumph with Bolero in Sarajevo, where they scored historic perfect 6.0s for artistic impression.

ITV will mark that anniversary with a one-off documentary, Dancing on Ice: the Story of Bolero with Torvill and Dean, on ITV1 on Saturday February 14 at 9.00pm.
