A BRITISH audience are being given the chance to watch a heart bypass op as it is carried out.
The surgery by American medics at a New Jersey hospital will be beamed live to TV screens at the Science Museum in London.
Viewers will also be able to quiz the doctors about what they are doing as the operation takes place. The event, later this month, is part of an educational programme developed by the US Liberty Science Centre.
A spokesman said: ''Participants will experience the drama of medicine in action and learn what put the patient on the operating table, such as poor dietary choices and smoking.''
