A dramatic end to the Premiership season has seen West Brom survive the relegation battle and Norwich, Crystal Palace and Southampton going down.
Southampton had spent 27 years in the top flight.
West Brom were bottom of the table at Christmas - no team has ever stayed in the Premiership when they were bottom during the Festive period.
The Baggies beat Portsmouth 2-0 while Norwich slumped 6-0 at Fulham, Southampton lost 2-1 at home to Manchester United and Crystal Palace drew 2-2 at Charlton.
It was an afternoon of twists and turns, with all four teams at one stage believing they would be safe.
Norwich went into their match knowing a win would keep them up whatever the result in the other games.
But after a bright start their chances unravelled as Fulham surged ahead.
Southampton took advantage of Norwich's troubles to give themselves a chance of staying up.
They took the lead in the first half and even though United equalised, Southampton were still in the driving seat at half-time.
That was because Charlton were ahead and West Brom had failed to score against Crystal Palace.
But the whole picture changed in the first 15 minutes of the second half.
As Norwich slipped further behind, Palace equalised, West Brom went ahead and Southampton fell behind to United.
The goals meant that West Brom were suddenly staying up.
However there was more drama to come as Palace went ahead at Charlton, leaving them to dream of Premiership survival.
It seemed that West Brom's second goal would be an irrelevance.
But the final twist came at the Valley, as Charlton equalised and sunk Crystal Palace's chances.
That goal put West Brom back into 17th place and they stayed there as Palace failed to find a winner.
