Please please please NOT Steve Mclaren next.
I know he won the Carling (or 'Premiership reserves') cup for Middlesbrough, but that is ALL. He has taken a club with huge potential (FA Youth Cup winners) and planted them precariously above the relegation zone.
I'm not exactly sure why Sven has taken him around the world for the last 4 years as assistant.
As for Sam Allardyce, he would ruin England as his style of play would bypass our midfield as it does at Bolton, just hoof it upfield, and we have one of the best midfields in the world.
Stuart Pearce, maybe in time, but he hasn't the pedigree yet either.
Everyone who is saying English manager next needs to seriously look at if there is anyone in this category good enough.
I say Guus Hiddink if possible, or Martin O'Neill if his wife is on the mend by the end of the World Cup, which of course we all hope.

Martin O' Neill would be great for England, but I think the FA will try to poach a real big name like Wenger,Scolari, Hiddink or god forbid Mourinho

Of the list on Sky Sports News last night (McClaren, Allardyce, O'Neill, Hiddink, Pearce) the only ones I'd even consider are Hiddink and Pearce.

I think the media are being a bit presumptious in assuming that ex-Sheffield Wednesday chairman Dave Richards' comments about "a British manager" means that he wants the great O'Neill. For all they know he could have meant he wanted Moyes or Hughes.

I know I'm being pedantic, surely O'Neill being Northern Irish means he isn't British given that it's always "Great Britain and Northern Ireland" or does British cover GBANI?
