I enjoy watching winter sports occasionally Mari, especially figure skating and downhill skiing. I have to admit that I have not seriously followed either since Torvill and Dean won all the ice dancing. That was 21 years ago they won in Sarejevo. Still I was only eleven, still makes me feel old though. I have to admit I do like to watch the winter olympics when it comes round.

Torvill and Dean were great, but Rahkamo and Kokko as well! Next Winter Olympics will be in Torino 2006 - but there's lot's of summer sports to enjoy before that!

I remember Rahkamo and Kokko, very innovative in their time. Did they win or were they subject to the biased judging of the russians? |

They win EC and came 2nd in WC 1995 and 4th in Lillehammer Olympics and began afterwords professional skaters - I've heard that they might have one home in the UK but Rahkamo was chosen December'04 for the next two years Finnish Figure Skating Alliances President/Chairman or something like that. |

I love watching ice skating! I too used to be a big fan of Torvill and Dean, I remember being allowed to get out of bed in the early hours of the morning to watch them on the telly in a competition! |

I remember that as well Milly. It was when T&D won their last world title in Ottawa. I remember feeling so grown up that I could watch it in the middle of the night with my mum and sister Those were the days, although I always preferred watching Barnum to bolero.

Yes it was Milly. Deep down knowing they were likely to win, but hoping they would'nt fall over. I really enjoyed their routines, and can remember being so excited when I went to see their show at Wembley and giving Christopher Dean some flowers. |

Lucky thing! I only saw them in a show in the nineties, a sort of professional thing in Birmingham. |
