Personally, I think Newcastle got a bargain. I cant believe the top premiership and european teams didnt want him.

When he was at Real Madrid, he was coming off the bench and scoring, but they still didnt think he was good enough.

Its great to see how loved already he is up in jordie land, 20 odd thousand people turning out to see him, in his Newcastle shirt, good luck to him (tho ill probs be doing my nut if he score against Arsenal!!!! ::lol:: )

but how ridiculous were those geordies who turned up to greet him? As stage managed as anything ever is at Newcastle, and this huge club (since the dawn of the Premiership because we all know nothing existed before then) showed exactly why Hadrian's Wall was built too far North.

And rightfully so. Can't be doing with Newcastle. Tosser of a Chairman, tosser of a manager, think they're a big club when in actual fact they are no bigger or better than the likes of Charlton or Manchester City.

Owen won't last longer than a year there and who can blame him.

Michael Owen is a bad football player because why did none of the big 3 not want him. Even Liverpool did not want him.

He's a quality player Michael Owen.

His record is superb, in total (not including England apps) he's played 337 games and scored 172 goals which is more than a goal every other game.

Even for England he's a regular prolific goalscorer with 32 goals in 71 caps.

He'd score 30 a season if he had the service Drogba gets!

::lol:: I thought about it for my Fantasy Football team on Fantasy Premier League but he'd have to dislodge Van Nistelrooy and Rooney and I can't see him scoring quite as many goals as them. Had he gone to Liverpool or any other team really, I'd have had him in.

Oh hes got the talent (Reyes), but not the attitude I'm afraid, a bit like Anelka, who Arsene was clever enough to unload to Real Madrid.
