viewlondon 19 September 2005 20:04:50 BST Jenson Button will remain at BAR next season after negotiating a way out of his agreement with Williams. Button had cut a deal to join Williams in 2006, something the talented driver regrets as he sees now BAR-Honda as the best team with which to achieve his ambitions and win the world championship. BMW will no longer supply engines to Williams next season and despite Sir Frank Williams' team leading BAR by 28 points in this season's constructors' championship their future is somewhat uncertain. After a long-running contractual dispute, with Button attempting to leave BAR for Williams last season, the 25-year-old has now decided to commit his long-term future to his present team. BBC Radio Five Live reports that Button has bought his way out of his Williams contract and at a cost of up to £20 million. Rubens Barrichello will partner Button at BAR next season after joining the team from Ferrari. The experienced Brazilian driver will replace Takuma Sato, who has been outperformed by Button this season, registering just one point in the drivers' championship. © Adfero Ltd |
