Hope he does well. Always liked Gazza, awesome talent and I always want him to do well in what he decides to do but he always ends up on his arse.

he has ruined everything he has ever done. Kettering will be no different. I'm just pleased no League club has fallen for this routine.

His backup team is pretty good, think he should get a coaches license first rather than straight into management. First game was a win tho!

Post subject:  Gazza axed over drinking - Ladak

Another version of that story :D

From Ananova

Paul Gascoigne's 39-day reign as manager of Kettering has ended in acrimony with chairman Imraan Ladak claiming the former England midfielder was "under the influence of alcohol before, during and after several first-team games and training sessions".

The 38-year-old released a statement earlier on Monday insisting he was "committed" to Kettering and wanted to buy Ladak's stake in the Nationwide Conference North club tin order to stay on.

But Ladak claims the former Tottenham, Lazio and Rangers star's problems with alcohol have resurfaced.

"I have tried to help Paul through this difficult period but gave an undertaking to the board prior to my takeover that if Paul hit the bottle I would remove him as manager.

"Paul has not reacted well to the news and has made numerous threats that if I do not sell him the club he will use his name and the media to turn the players and supporters against me.

"This has already begun with Paul calling a number of the first team last night, under the influence of alcohol. Paul even told players not to report for training at MK Dons where they were due to commence full-time training."

Ladak has moved swiftly to appoint Wilson, who was the Poppies manager until Gascoigne took over 39 days ago.

Ladak insists Gascoigne offered to quit the club last night after learning that Ladak planned to sack him, and has urged the man he called his "childhood idol" to seek "professional medical assistance" for his problems.

"Last night's conversation was a result of 37 separate incidents I have had to deal with since the appointment of Paul Gascoigne as manager," Ladak told the club's official website http://www.ketteringtownfc.co.uk.

Ladak added: "Last night I spoke to Paul Gascoigne who told me 'I will save you the pleasure of sacking me. I will walk away. I quit'."

37 is a lot of seperate incidents if they are all genuine, but it does sound like this guy wanted rid of Gazza anyway.

Agree with that qwertynels. Again, Gazza can't stick to something, not good to see.

Former England football star Paul Gascoigne has been arrested over an alleged assault outside a hotel.
Mr Gascoigne, 38, was arrested on Monday night outside the Hope Street Hotel in Liverpool after a member of the press said he had been attacked.

Merseyside Police confirmed a 38-year-old was in custody in the city.

Mr Gascoigne, an ex-Newcastle, Spurs and Rangers player returned to football as non-league Kettering Town's manager in October, but was sacked on Monday.

Paramedics called

He had been in Liverpool on Monday to speak at a fund-raising event for a drug and alcohol rehabilitation centre.

It is not clear if he was staying at the Hope Street Hotel, which styles itself as Liverpool's first boutique hotel.

Paramedics were called and they treated the journalist outside the hotel. He may also have received hospital treatment.

"The person who reported the matter was a member of the press who received medical treatment at the scene," Merseyside Police said.

They would not say which organisation the journalist was from.

Earlier on Monday, Kettering Town chairman Imraan Ladak fired Mr Gascoigne after just 39 days in charge at the Nationwide Conference North side, over claims about his conduct.

Mr Gascoigne claimed he had been "stitched up" over the sacking.
