Without him in the World Cup, we simply can not win it (awaiting Hippo saying we're a one man team!) If we're to do well in Germany then he must be there. Even if he can only play one game it's worth taking him. Without him, teams won't fear us at all. Prayers for the foot are required! |

Our Father, who art in heaven Hallowed be thy Jules Rimet Trophy Thy England team come, thy healing be done On Wayne Rooney's foot as it was on Beckhams Give us this World Cup, our ticket to the final And forgive us for shouting at the ref, as the ref forgives those who may say he needeth new glasses For thine is the penalty, the power and the glory Forever and ever. Amen

^Lol, good one trolleydolley! We cant win the cup without him, but we will still make the quarter finals, and hopefully Wayne will be back for that game. Id play Owen up front on his own, with Joe Cole the withdrawn striker, with Gerrard on the left (as he has done for Liverpool), and Lampard, Beckham and Carrick (or preferably King) in midfield. |

If we're playing 1 up front in Owen with Cole just behind then I really do think that the left winger should be Stewart Downing. His crossing is better than Beckham's and England would benefit more from having him out wide and Gerrard and Lampard in the middle. |

Look on the bright side guys, when England get knocked out at least you will have someone to blame. Now I wonder what your excuse would have been if Rooney was able to play. *runs and hides* |

In one of our local papers today, (the Western Daily Press) the lead story is rugby player Mike Tindall saying he played rugby for seven years with a broken metatarsal before realising it was broken (and during that time England won the Rugby World Cup or whatever its called...) |

| Post subject: | Ferguson makes new Rooney warning |
Quote: Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has reiterated his view that England should not take Wayne Rooney to the World Cup unless he is 100% fit.
The 20-year-old United striker was included in England's 23-man squad, which was rubber-stamped on Monday, despite having broken a bone in a foot. Ferguson told MUTV: "You cannot take anyone half-fit to a World Cup, I think that happened with David Beckham. "We have assisted Wayne. He didn't enjoy the oxygen chamber but tried it." Ferguson revealed that his concerns over Rooney are partly fuelled by Manchester United's self-interest in having the United star fit for next season. He added: "A lot of people might think I am selfish but Wayne is the most important player in the team at Manchester United. Full article at BBC |

This Rooney fitness hysteria is quite unfounded. Shrek is never far from his trusted sidekick. Sven knows what's he doing, he knows Rooney will be fit in time (for you to be knocked out by Brazil). Why? Well, he's taking Donkey isn't he?
Eeee-aww!! Eeee-aw!!! Another penalty shoot-out disaster! Oh no, oh no, eeee aaaw!!

More like 'hash' or whatever Sven's been smoking! What a squad! Sure, your first choice 11 is full of World Class players, but you'll have to call on the full squad the further you go in the tournament. (not that Scotland would know about that!) And to think we Scots thought Vogts was clueless for picking players he'd never seen.

I'm convinced that only me and Sven rate Hargreaves. Said way before the squad came out he'd definitely be named if I was in charge. He's a big asset to us. |

Its a Great squad, between Lampard, Cole and Gerrard, we've got goals. Why pick naff strikers like defoe, Beattie and Heskey. The swedish boys done good, and we'll do our admirable thing of going out on pens in the quarter finals |
