Ant and Dec’s celebrity golf tournament 2006


BACKDRAFT star William Baldwin is the latest addition to the US side set to tee off on Ant and Dec’s celebrity golf tournament which airs this Saturday on ITV1.

He will join Olympic athlete Michael Johnson, aging rocker Alice Cooper, The Usual Suspects’ Chazz Palminteri and Dallas star Patrick Duffy on the USA side of The All*Star Cup 2006.

Veteran entertainer Bruce Forsyth, Ronan Keating, James Nesbitt, Bradley Walsh and Ross Kemp will be among the stars taking to the greens to represent Europe.

Supermodel and keen golfer Jodie Kidd will be swapping her Gucci’s for a nine iron and her 22 point handicap might give us European's the edge.

Media mogul, Chris Evans is hoping to match last year’s performance when he was awarded the ‘player of the tournament’ title.

Europe team captain Colin Montgomerie said: "I’m delighted and very proud to be captaining the European team again and I am looking forward to returning to Wales to defend our trophy."

Last year, Catherine Zeta Jones led the European team to victory and we are hoping for a repeat result this year.

Ahead of this year's contest, host Dec said "Last year was great because both teams took it really seriously. We had a nail biting finish with team Europe winning at the last hole by the narrowest of margins – only two points - so there really is everything to play for in the re-match!"

The three-day tournament will boast an amazing line-up of Hollywood A-listers against a team of famous Europeans, who will be defending their title and will once again be captained by Europe's top professional golfer, Colin Montgomerie.

Ant says: “We're really looking forward to hosting All*Star Cup this August. The tournament promises to be even bigger and better than last year. I'm sure they'll be really strong rivalry between the US and the Europeans once again.”
