Top British sports stars call for a ban on female riders on the deadly toboggan course to be scrappedThe Cresta run: three-quarters of a mile of kamikaze ice-racing through bone-jarring, high G-force twists along one of the most dangerous toboggan runs on the planet. The people who risk it have three things in common: they are reckless; they compare X-rays of their injuries for a laugh; and they are all, exclusively, men.
For almost a century, women have been forbidden from riding the course in St Moritz, Switzerland. But when the Cresta opens for the winter next week, the UK's Women's Sport and Fitness Foundation (WSFF) will launch a campaign calling for the abolition of this "sexist and outdated" ban.
