Live Six Nations Rugby Union - BBC1
Italy v Ireland Saturday 05 February - 2:00pm - 4:25pm

Italy v Ireland (Kick-off 2.30pm). Gabby Logan introduces coverage of both sides' opening match in this year's championship, staged at the Stadio Flaminio in Rome. Italy finished bottom of the table last year, with just a solitary home win against Scotland to show for their efforts, but they can take encouragement from their performances in Rome in 2010, which also included a narrow 17-12 defeat by England. Ireland have never lost to the Azzurri in the Six Nations, and enjoyed a 38-9 triumph in 2009 when they last visited the Italian capital, although their meeting last year in Dublin was a much more hard-fought affair. With commentary by Eddie Butler and Philip Matthews.

Live Six Nations Rugby Union - BBC1
France v Scotland, Saturday 05 February 4:35pm - 7:00pm

France v Scotland (Kick-off 5.00pm). The final match on the opening weekend of the championship comes from the Stade de France in Paris, where Les Bleus begin their quest to successfully defend the title. France won all five fixtures last year, including an 18-9 victory at Murrayfield against the Scots, and have triumphed in 11 of the last 12 meetings between the nations. Scotland's last win in Paris came in 1999, though they can take some confidence from their victory over South Africa in the autumn internationals. Presented by John Inverdale, with commentary by Andrew Cotter and Jonathan Davies, and analysis by Andy Nicol and Jeremy Guscott.
