Chris Froome and Team Sky cross the finish lineBritain's Chris Froome has won the 100th edition of the Tour de France. Froome finished safely in the bunch on the 21st and final stage of the three-week race, a 133.5-km ride from Versailles to Paris which was won by Germany's Marcel Kittel.
Cavendish had won four in a row on the Champs-Élysées but could only manage third place behind Kittel and his fellow German André Greipel.
Behind, Team Sky crossed the line arm-in-arm as they celebrated Chris Froome's Tour win. "It brought tears to my eyes, just coming over the line like that," Froome told ITV4 afterwards.
