One of the books I;m reading is the Complete Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy- it goes so well with MQS's biography...

I am reading N for Noose by Sue Grafton, they are always good whodunnits if a little formulaic. Kinsey Milhone is cool.

I have just read No Signposts in the Sea which was Vita Sackville West's last novel. The story itself is quite one dimensional but I thought the descriptions of character's feelings were wonderful. But maybe that is because I am just a soppy thing! Really enjoyed it.

Also just read Annabel Goldsmith's memoirs (The nightclub was named after her) - it was fascinating! The way other people live.... I ended up really liking her.

I'm reading Star of the Sea by Joseph O Connor but I accidentally threw it into a swimming pool a few days ago whilst swatting a wasp with it, so its a bit soggy, quite ironic really.

I am reading The Alchemist by Paul Coelho. Have just started it but it looks very promising.

Did you enjoy this book, Happy?
A lot of the reviewers on Amazon reckon it's inspiring and life-changing. I thought it was Ok as a kind of fairy-tale for grown-ups, but nothing more.

I'm reading two at the moment:

Soldier Five by Mike Coburn
Deep Black by Andy Mcnab

Both very interesting if you like that sort of thing ()^ Soldier Five especially as it's an account of the Bravo Two Zero mission by someone in the patrol, but what's interesting is that having read books from two of the other guys that were involved (Chris Ryan and Andy Mcnab) some of the details (such as the amount of encounters, and the general threat of the enemy) are quite different in each, leading me to wonder who's telling the full truth, if anyone.

Just thought i'd put that here because i didn't want to start a new thread :D
