| Post subject: | Book Group |
Now that BB is over, I have gone back to reading. Is anyone interested in us starting a Book Group here. (sorry if it's been done or suggested before). We could take turns in suggesting a book and give an allotted time to read it, say 3 or 4 weeks, then come on and all say what we liked or disliked etc. Any takers? |

Great, HC. I reckon we need a few more to make it interesting, so lets see who else replies. Another thought on it, I think if we choose the books in turn, say alphabetically, there should be no arguing about the chosen book. That way you may end up reading something that you normally wouldn't read. It might be an idea not to choose more than one book from each author and if too many people have already read the book, then there should be a second choice made by whoever's turn it is. It is difficult to pick a book that everyone hasn't read but if one 1 other person has read it, maybe that would be ok. What do you think? |

sounds fine to me ellie. its always good to broaden your reading horizons and it can lead you to books you may have not bothgered with before. I used to belong to a book club in my village but at the time hardly had (or made) the time to read the books or go along so stopped going but I'd love to hear what others think. |

I'll join as long as there isn't too much chick-lit or biographies. |

Great babybelle and cc. Babybelle, I think if someone else suggests chick lit and/or a biography, then thats the book we'll do. Of course, you can always choose not to read that particular book, but I think it does no harm to occassionally (too many c's, s's and L's, I know) to read something you wouldn't normally choose. |

I have never read Harry Potter and wouldn't plan to but in the interests of book discussion I would give it a go.

I'm cool with the occassional chick-lit, as long as it doesn't turn into the Heat Recommended List (which is about 80% chick-lit these days). It's good to read different things anyway, I have no clue what to read next at the moment. I'm about to start two college courses as well so I'll probably end up skipping some good stuff anyway. |
