Much as I dislike the couple I often like some of their recommended reading {@}

Here is the list for 2007

I read 'Love in the present tense' when I was staying at ellies house (and left it there for her so I know she has read it too ;) ) and thought it was really lovely. I quite fancy a few others on this list too.

I've got a few of these (christmas presents) and am looking forwarding to reading them.

I won't be put of by the fact that richard and Judy have recommended them.

I usually pick out one of two books from their choices but I don't think I will this time as I have so many books lying around begging to be read.

I've read stuff they've picked before, but since I can't stand "girly" books I mostly avoid their list, and this years doesn't appear to be much different.

'girly' books? There is only one book on this list that I would class as even remotely girly, The Girls and even then I'm only basing that on the title. I have three of these books in my bookcase and have already read one, they aren't in the slightest bit girly, if you are referring to chick lit.

There are books there that, from the blurb, just sound like chick-lit. I know, "never judge a book by its cover" and all that, but since people actually said whats-her-name Ahern wrote good books I've very careful about books that even sound remotely like hers. Or The Time Traveller's Wife - don't get what all the fuss was about on that one.

Also Richard and Judy only tend to pick peple who happen to want to be on their show. Half the time when Judy talks about the book she sounds like someone has read it for her ad basically told her "yeah, this is a good bit, talk about this".
